I always am taken aback by how hysterical people can be at Wicked though, particularly on Broadway! People are wooping and clapping from the moment Rachel flies
That has always annoyed me with pretty much everything I've seen on Broadway, but none more so than at Wicked, it was so over the top - Rachel was incredible, but I wanted to hear her, not the audience screams! It was also really strange how some moments I didn't find funny at all got huge laughs, whereas a lot of the parts that audiences in London tend to find funny didn't get a reaction at all in New York.

Does anyone know who is on today for the leads? I am seeing Wicked tonight for the 13th(!) time and have seen both Emma (as Standby) and Savannah in the roles. I really enjoyed Emma when I saw her last, and have been a fan of Savannah's Glinda since she started so would be happy to see both of them but am intrigued to see who is on. None of the lead three have holiday dates scheduled for today so it will be illness if any of them are off.

Natalie McQueen and Helen Woolf are doing Cardinal Place this afternoon as part of West End Live, so would guess you're going to get Emma & Savannah tonight... The u/s are usually pretty good at tweeting when they're on if you do Twitter?!

O hope so, I really love Savannah's Glinda and I would love to see how Emma has developed in the role since she was Standby! I was under-the-radar hoping for Laura to be on as Elphaba but she went to Ibiza this weekend according to Twitter so unless she just did a weekend there, the chances of that are slim haha.

Just went to get my ticket for tonights performance, really rude Box Office staff member, first time ever at Wicked for me. Went up politely, said good morning, he looked really impatient, didn't even say "hello" or "how can I help?". I asked if I can collect my ticket for tonight's show, he sighed and said, rushed around just said "last name", and gave me my ticket. Through gritted teeth, I said "thank you" and he didn't even respond so I left.
Just so, so rude in my eye, you are paid to do that job and give good customer service, service with a smile etc, it was just so rude of him! Too much to ask for some manners?!
Sorry guys, rant over.

The Apollo Victoria has an active Twitter account, I would tweet and tell them, they've been pretty positive about feedback etc in the past!

I think I know who you mean! I've been served by a man there a few times and he's been less than pleasant.

No major cast changes tonight, Russell Walker on as Dillamond and Sean Kearns on as The Wizard.

That's quite weird Natalie M is scheduled for all these shows! Does anyone think Andreou may have been let go?

Likely Emma had scheduled holiday (it's on the website) and then Nat is either on holiday too, or has had to take some leave for injury/family reasons etc. And they might not have minded giving Nat M and Laura a few shows before they leave. hoping to catch Natalie M again!!

Holy crap Emma and Savannah are killin' it tonight! Emma's Defying Gravity was, quite literslly, spell-binding! First time seeing this cast and I love them! Daniel Hope is such a cute Boq!

Putain de merde. I'm in London next week Thursday to Sunday to see Natalie A three last times (flight and hotel booked months ago), and now this. Now I need to quickly organise alternatives for Thursday Evening and both Saturday shows. I am by no means seeing Natalie M again as I disliked her Elphaba even more than Emma's. Edit: Alternatives sorted: Thursday: Jersey Boys (Dayseat). Saturday: Funny Girl (Dayseat) and The Go-Between (TKTS). Still hugely disappointed that I won't get to see Ms A go green ever again.

I bought a ticket for Rachel's first show (5th Sept). Now I'm thinking I might also buy a ticket for Emma's last.

Tonight's show was brilliant, reminds me why I love it so much after a year since my last visit to Oz. I'm quite surprised the amount of small changes here and there in a year that I noticed, but it is all for the better. The cast were great and each brought something new to the characters, even Savannah after playing it for about three years!
But seriously, sorry to bring up an old topic, but no one in that theatre for one second is believing Katie Rowley-Jones is the younger sister of Emma Hatton! Especially considering Emma looks significantly younger than she actually is anyway!

Glad you got alternatives sorted and sorry to have been the messenger of doom! Like someone else said I'm guessing that Natalie A must be ill, although seems strange that they know for definite she won't be available all of next week!

It's good that although they couldn't convince themselves of a discrepancy in age, they were able to get over the fact there's a talking goat, a green witch that is nifty at operating a cherry picker and some flying monkey's in the show too. It's lovely when an audience is accepting of stuff like that.

It's lovely when an audience is accepting of stuff like that. Firstly, I am not the first person to say this on here, and I probably won't be the last either. It is just an opinion. And saying "no one in the theatre" was sarcasm, sorry you didn't pick up on it.
Secondly, in the world of Oz, you can accept things like green witches, goats and monkeys, but when they specifically say about Nessarose being Elphaba's younger sister, it has to be a bit believable at least from a human perspective. And as I said, it is not like it is visibly minor, Katie looks significantly older than Emma, which isn't helped by the fact that Emma looks younger than she is anyway.

Daniel, I absolutely love that you've just told me I didn't get your sarcasm but then you continued replying to my post. The specific wording of "no one in that theatre is believing..." was sarcastic wording on my part.
The second part of the response is merely my opinion.

If we're going to be pedantic about this, your statement was hyperbole/exaggeration. Nelly's response was sarcastic - He clearly didn't actually think you had asked the entire audience for their views. Can we stop arguing about semantics now please?

Fine, I apologise for mistaking the original statement...
... but she is too old for that role.
