Just watched the trailer. Staging looks a bit different from the London production Which bits? It’s been a while since I’ve seen the London production but can’t say I noticed any differences. |

Only little bits and it's a short trailer but I don't remember the line about "Welcome to Walmart", the supermarket trolley or the torch bit. But at my time of life my memory isn't what it was so could have just forgotten those bits. |

I'm so happy with the results of recent filmed shows (Hamilton and Come From Away) and I feel like they've finally sussed how to shoot them and capture the magic of the productions for film. The way this version is shot has a similar feel to Hamilton capturing the more intimate moments up close and big production numbers with a wider view of the stage. I love that so many people will see the filmed show then want to see the production in person or just appreciate this excellent adaptation. Being such a fan of seeing the shows live I wouldn't want to see every production filmed in this way but would really welcome a couple each year. A pro shoot of Mean Girls would be great!

This was filmed by the same production company as Hamilton (RadicalMedia), so it's not surprising there are similarities in the way it was shot. I, too, hope they do more shows.

Went to the matinee today, nothing extra to mark the day but it was just incredibly poignant to be there. Fantastic atmosphere and the cast were giving it everything.

I am totally blown away by this show.
I now want to see it live but am worried that I’ve already fallen in love with the characters as portrayed by the filmed cast.
Can anyone who’s seen more than one cast in this show comment on how seeing different actors has affected their experience. I’ve seen many shows with multiple casts, but this feels different somehow.

My experience is that you fall in love with the character due to the strength of the actor in the role. I've seen various casts but have my faves. Go and see it live - it's a unique and specisl show. |

Absolutely have fallen in love with different characters with different casts (didn't hugely care for Beulah as Astrid plays her but Jenna Boyd is a revelation...)

Saw the OBC and OLC, plus London cast changes. Always loved it wholly and completely, with my singular cast complaint being the Broadway understudy for Beverley - she wasn't so bad as the American pilot, but her Newfoundland accent was shockingly atrocious (she covered Medda in Newsies too, and her 'cockney' accent was both completely unnecessary, as the principal never had one, and possibly the worst thing I've ever heard from a Broadway or West End stage.) Thankfully I saw it twice on Broadway and also got to see Jenn Colella. But besides that, I've always loved seeing the show, regardless of cast. |

If you can find it, there is a documentry called 'You are here. A come from away story' Its basically the story that Come From Away is based on, in that its video footage, pictures, video clips and interviews with the real people in Gander,and some of the 'come from aways' and how 9/11 was for them. How they planned and delivered what they did. Wow. Its one thing to hear about it in the show, but to see how the town got togethe and welcomed these people, its really quite astonishing. Its also quite sad how they looked after complete strangers and took them in, when refugees and even homeless people in this country can be treated like outcasts.
It also covers the making of the musical, from the initail meeting with the writers, through to opening.

Absolutely loved the recorded version of this, it somehow retained so much of the impact of seeing it in person. As a result of the recording, I'm now heading down to London this weekend to try for day seats for Saturday - my first show back after everything that's happened and this is definitely the right show for that!

Watched the recording last night and thought it captured the show beautifully. Great to see the wonderful OBC too.
I bawled throughout. Such a special, heartfelt little show. I've always been impressed with how tight the direction is - the pace never lets up and really makes the show the success it is.

I do think the British cast are better at delivering some of the comic lines but I can let that slide as it's captured and preserved now to watch whenever I want Also watched the "You Are Here - A Come From Away Story" documentary. Jesus I was crying within 60 seconds of it being on. The opening is so powerful. |

In case anybody hadn’t seen, they have recently released a new album called Covers From Away with, you guessed it, covers of the songs from the musical. And they’ve been reinterpreted by the Newfoundland and Labrador bands and artists who originally inspired the sound of the musical. It’s worth a listen if you’re a fan of the show.

Before today I said never had any TV channels other than Freeview, but I signed up for the 7 day free trial of Apple TV+ purely to watch this. (Now I've got the hang of that, I'm going to have to try the same with Amazon Prime for the Everybody's Talking About Jamie film!)
I hadn't seen this before, and I loved it. I'm going to try and watch it again before my free trial ends. I thought it was cleverly done with the actors playing multiple parts and there being very little set, and I liked how it ran through without stops for applause. I found it very moving, especially when the first plane made it over the border.
I think it's great that theatre shows are being shown on TV, with this and those that have been on Sky Arts. It's a great help for those of us that don't get to London very often. More of these please!

I’m having the toughest time holding onto my resolution to see this in the theatre prior to watching the recording. I’m hoping to finally get to the London production in the next few weeks, but when the whole show is just sitting there, a couple of clicks away…

Same here Peter. I have a friend in the London cast and I’m dying to see them and had hoped to not be tempted to watch the recording but alas I watched it tonight.
It is glorious.
Makes me want to see it at the Phoenix even more.

Well I was there at the Phoenix tonight (13th time seeing the show) and although I haven’t seen the Apple TV Recording - there’s nothing quite like seeing this live!
The London cast are just amazing. I’m already thinking I’ll be ready for another visit before long.

I got day seats for this for Saturday matinee and oh my goodness, this just never disappoints. The entire cast are incredible, not a weak link anywhere - and you genuinely get the impression that they absolutely love and have so much respect for the story.
For anyone considering the day seats, they're a bargain at £20 but the stage is HIGH - I wouldn't sit here for my first time, but its great if you're already familiar with the show - I loved it. You don't see many peoples feet - certainly not toward the back of the stage. I arrived at 8.30 with coffee and breakfast in hand for box office opening at 10am, but by the time it opened, there were only 7 of us in the queue so we could have had a lie in!!
