I must say, it's so nice for the Phoenix to finally have a hit it seems, at least up until this point it is undoubtedly a hit. When was the last real hit this theatre had?

Once ran for two years so did rather well. Would certainly class that as a hit. Hopefully Come From Away will do at least the same.

I would class this as a perfect example of how word of mouth can just make a show a hit. It's rare that it happens so fast, but here we are.

BB ran for over 10,000 perfs in the WE and is one of only 3 musicals to ever achieve this feat according to the people at ATG.I was lucky enough to see all the Mrs J cast changes. It also tours constantly as it is a school’s favourite and is on many syllabi.

Had a friend who saw the show this afternoon, apparently was sold out and, on asking the box office, was sold out again tonight. So thrilled for everyone involved!

I was there this evening.
I don't have words to describe what I just saw. It was just WOW. I laughed, I cried, I almost pulled a muscle leaping to my feet at the end for the standing ovation.
I must go again.

This show is just proof of what word of mouth can do.
Sat in my Dentist today, in Loughton, and the postman comes in and says to the middle-aged receptionist, 'get 2 tickets for Come From Away, I saw it last night with the Mrs and it's the best show I've ever seen. Better than that 9 to 5 crap you told me to see!' *they laugh* She then goes on to say how she will book on tomorrow to see next Tuesday with her son when he's visiting! These two weren't exactly stagey, so it's great to see this getting amazing recommendations from peers.
Long may it run!

watched the Broadway version on bilibili
crazy how the set is identical! Down to the tiny details
If I didn't know the cast, I wouldv'e thought it was the West End version
I too am glad this show has escaped the curse of the Phoenix

I didn't know the Phoenix had a reputation for non-successes - though must admit in all my years of going to the theatre Come From Away was the first time I'd been there!
Congrats to all in the cast in crew on the Olivier awards (specially Best New Musical)...well deserved IMHO as its the best thing I've seen in years.

Congrats to all in the cast in crew on the Olivier award...well deserved IMHO the Pheonix has just needed a good hug for a good few years now. Come From Away appears to be that hug and I couldn't be happier this is the one!

Looking on ATG, Come From Away seems to have loads of availability at almost every performance from the middle of next week. Even Saturdays after this weekend don't seem to be selling very well in advance. I thought I'd struggle to get tickets to see it again in the next few weeks but there's half the auditorium to choose from on the dates I had in mind!

I have a feeling they release loads of tickets to TodayTix for rush each day and they get snapped up almost immediately.

I thought I'd struggle to get tickets to see it again in the next few weeks but there's half the auditorium to choose from on the dates I had in mind! at the start of every week it's been the same thing, but then they put it on dayseats and rush, as well as walk up business and every performance had been sold out or close to sold out since January. So I wouldn't read too much into that or worry.

Blood brothers? Ran for a while. Hahahahaa. The question made me laugh! BLOOD BROTHERS ran over two decades? Lol.... The question danieljohnson14 asked was when not what, the answer being the last 'long runner' at the Phoenix closed 2012 - 7 years ago. Since then it's been a splurge or short runs and misfires. With so many in the bag it probably makes it feel longer since something ran a decent duration.

Given CFA has only been open a couple of months it seems a bit premature to hail this show as breaking the Phoenix "curse" any more than Once did...

I'd personally consider Once the last hit the Pheonix had. It had a perfectly respectable run. I would imagine Come From Away, at the rate it's going this early, could find similar success, but as someone has said, it's too soon to tell a long term run.

Incredible show again this evening. Can only echo what I said before!
Also had 4 covers on; which was great; Kirsty Malpass as Janice Chiara Baronti as Dianne Alex McMorran as Claude Tania Mathurin as Belulah
All were very good, but special mention to Kirsty Malpass who I loved as Janice. Also though Tania Mathurin was exceptional tonight.
Once again Rachel brought the house down with MATS and Cat Simmons was unreal, I bloody love her in this, and she broke my heart more this time around. I really liked Mary Doherty as Bonnie, she does a great job and sticks out for me.
Don't know if I'll rush back as tonight was perfect and I don't want to make myself sick of this show!!! Possibly cast change, depending on who is leaving!
