I'm really hoping that there will be dayseats available for this one, as I can see myself wanting to see it a couple of times (given how much I enjoyed the cast album!) and don't mind the waiting around in the mornings.

Is it hard to find instrument playing kids? Not usually, but I had a friend who wanted to audition but he was too tall. Sadly a lot of casting directors set a maximum height for most shows. |

Just had an email that more seats have been released for School of Rock - looks like the front block (some of it anyway) is now on sale @ £69.50 for the dates I've looked at. They've also released side view seats in rows I, J and K for £15! Just got mine |

Previews start in roughly three months, so if not done already, they should at least be very close to casting the leads. If they asked me, I'd love to see either Nathan Amzi or Oliver Tompsett as Dewey and Rebecca Trehearn as Ms Mullens. |

Seetickets seem to have much of the remaining front stalls - the centre of Row E at the £59.50/£65 level and the centre block of Rows F, G & H at the premium £85/£89.50 level.
On the official School of Rock Seetickets seating plan, does anyone know what the green dot on the red circle seats in row C signifies, if anything?

If you try putting one of them into your basket, they'll display a note that "rows further forward may be added". You don't get that note with a non-dot seat, so I guess that the note just denotes that additional information is available for this seat. |

Can you be more specific on the numbers? C10-C22 - the entire middle section:  As I said above, I think the dot only denotes that additional information is available for these seats. |

The whole middle block of row C10-22 have green dots on red, compared to the row behind, which is plain red. Both priced £59.50 for the date I am looking at.
Don't have time to detail the other seats in E, F, G & H on Seetickets as its nearly 2am here and I should be asleep!

Rebecca Trehearn would be on my list too, I think! Rebecca would definitely fit the part, both in voice and appearance for me. Other names I would throw in would be Scarlett Strallen (unlikely I suppose but it would be great to see her back on a West End stage with a role and show that would be quite different from her recent work) and also Siobhan Dillon and Siubhan Harrison. Then for Dewey, like others have said, Simon Lipkin or Oliver Tompsett. |

No announcement on casting yet, I would have thought they would be starting rehearsals now. the usual time to start the rehearsals is around 8 weeks before the start, so I won't be expecting any announcements till August. I discussed that show with an actor who's been auditioning and a few weeks ago he didn't know the results himself, so this may still e in process of negotiations and discussions |

But School of Rock is no ordinary show, it relies on children who can act, sing and play their instruments, so in a way as tough as Billy Elliot.

The kids have all been cast, they found out last Tuesday, a few known west end kids and the vast majority are new-comers. Hopefully Alex comes over (personal opinion) but I think they may stay British.

Thought I'd share with you some exciting information I found out yesterday... I saw Aladdin yesterday and stage doored. Asked Nathan Amzi if he was interested in playing Dewey and he said that he'd had meetings with Andrew Lloyd Webber. Apparently Disney aren't overly happy about him leaving early, so he said they'll most likely bring Alex Brightman over for a bit and then as soon as Nathan's contract is over with Aladdin, he'll start in SoR. He, nor Alex, haven't signed any contracts yet, but at the moment this is apparently ALW's plan!  |

I really hope that that ends up working out as I'd love to see Alex Brightman but Nathan Amzi is the obvious choice over here, so it'd be the best of both worlds.

I'd love it to be someone British & ive said before I think Nathan is a perfect choice but when I asked him recently he said although he'd auditioned it would be too soon due to his contract in Aladdin to make it work. Disney wouldn't just let him out, Which I think is a shame as the part in Aladdin isn't as big and although the three friends are one of the best things in Aladdin they are under used. Plus Aladdin will want to keep its original cast. I'm sure he hopes there is a chance for the second year but like has been said no contracts have been signed so it's all still just hope & speculation. Who knows whoever plays it could stay or it might not last till the second year.
I heard Simon Lipkin & Tim Prottey Jones have been auditioning. Also possible Brit options. If they do bring an American it could be Will Bloom who is Alex's understudy, who I've heard is very good. That does happen a lot. He knows the show already and Broadway keeps its Tony Nominee (like in Aladdin Trevor came over not James). It's not long now so I'm sure there will be an announcement soon. For me though it is a shame it looks like it won't be Nathan as I think he deserves a role like that.

Will Blum is a fantastic Dewey. He does most weekend matinees (I think there must be some reason they don't list him as the official alternate Dewey, but there's a pattern to his tweets). If he doesn't go to London, I hope he takes over for Alex here! http://instagram.com/p/BG5pXUZIOTS |

Will Blum has not long joined the Broadway company, and while he is apparently excellent, I can't see ALW asking him to open the London show. I reckon we'll get Alex Brightman for a few months before a British Dewey takes over which will hopefully be Nathan.
I cannot picture Simon Lipkin as Dewey at all, and I don't think his voice is strong enough to cope with the score.
