"I am Telling You" - Dreamgirls. It's the reason I won't see the show which is a shame as "One Night Only" is one of my favourite songs. See I think the Effie section of One Night Only is one of the most boring parts of Dreamgirls, and I like the show. |

The only reason I would recommend watching the film is for Jennifer Hudsons performance, which is incredible. She earned that Oscar! But otherwise, the musical is better!  |

The one in The Rink with the "AW Mah!" chorus. I do believe several examples are edited out in the current Southwark production, but why stop there?
In the current Southwark production it's performed exactly as published in the original script and score.

'Bui Doi' in 'Miss Saigon'. It's the worst song in the score to begin with, and the staging in the original production and the recent tour, with that hideously exploitative slide-show which cynically uses the plight of third-world children as set-dressing, is utterly putrid.

I saw Katie Hall and Gareth Gates(!) do it, the first time I ever saw Les Mis. She sounded like a dying sparrow (and her voice was totally swallowed whenever Gates joined in), and he was nasal and soppy. Horrendous song. |

 But it contains that beautiful line, sung by Eponine, "He was never mine to lose..." which is echoed so tenderly when the song is reprised briefly in Every Day. Jean Valjean sings of Cosette, "She was never mine to keep..."
And it ends with the lovers singing, "For it isn't a dream, Not a dream after all..." reminding us that Fantine once dreamed a dream...

The King George songs from Hamilton. In the show they felt a little bit jarring and I didn’t really find his moments very funny of award winning, and I always skip them when listing to the album.

In addition to my previously mentioned 'Castle on a Cloud', I would have to add 'Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again' and 'Greenfinch and Linnet Bird'
There are some fantastic soprano songs out there - but these two are just painful. Christine just warbles on and on - losing more of my sympathy with each and every bar. And then Johanna is burdened with a weak tune and weaker lyrics. Both pieces just reinforce a stereotype of a weak woman needing a strong man.
I appreciate that both characters are in extreme circumstances - but these songs do them no favours.

As crazy as it is but I adore Anyone can whistle. But I always skip over Simple (it’s too clever) and also I’ve got you to lean on (Too much material for what it is trying to say). But great score especially Come play wiz me.

Wall in My Head from Everybody's Talking About Jamie (after he receives the high heels from his mum and Ray) is now on my list.
It feels almost like it comes too soon in the production to generate much emotion, it's just BOOM Jamie's angsty.
Then his trepidation at wearing the high heels is just repeated in his dialogue/song with Pritti soon after.I know it's character development but still.
