At ATG theatres, the house programme (cast information, brief history of the show) is £4, and with Kinky Boots, they do a special souvenir brochure which has production photos and interviews in it, which is £7. |

I saw this last night in Aberdeen - with reservations after the comments on here regarding the kids etc.
Yes, there was a bit of emotion missing without the kids and the beginning wasn't as good as the London production but overall, I LOVED this cast.
Charlie and Lola were absolutely fantastic! The Aberdeen audience took a while to warm up but by the end they gave it a full standing ovation.
One comment I have is that the accents are much more authentic than the times I saw it in London - so much so that my friend who came with me struggled to catch a lot of the dialogue. However, not a bad thing. I think the band may be scaled down, it sounded very synthesised and base-heavy to be honest and I reckon they could have played a track. I still love it though, well worth a trip if it comes to a town near you.

I was a bit worried as a couple of friends who went on the first night (of a two week run) said they thought it was very amateurish. the lighting was all over the place and actually left at the interval. Move on to this week and I couldn't see any of the problems she encountered, in fact, I thought the first half was better than the second and the audience loved it. Standing ovations, whooping and cheering. Lola and Charlie. Just wow! |

Selling terribly in Dublin, was looking at a matinee for next Thurday- about 20% of the seats sold.
Wonder what price they'd offer you if you rang the day of.

They have two weekday Matinees next week. The Tuesday matinee has sold slightly better but I am not sure why they thought two weekday matinees was a good idea in such a big theatre. School holidays are over, schools are back, third level repeat exams and orientation is beginning for most people and work has resumed properly for most people. Not sure who they thought were going to fill two weekday matinees. |

Went to see this in Southampton today.
It never really interested me when it was on in the West End so I never bothered to go but now I really regret that decision, I really enjoyed it.
There were a couple of microphone/sound issues which was a bit annoying so I missed a few lines from a couple of characters when their mics cut out.
A woman walking out of the theatre behind me said she'd been crying at it... didn't find it particularly emotional, is that just me?

Like many shows, I think it depends on your experience. I can't watch Kinky Boots without crying my way through the second half of act two, but that's largely because my dad died a few years ago and when Charlie starts lashing out at everyone because he's grieving I relate. The scene outside the factory with Lauren gets me every time. I can see why someone else might not have that reaction, though.

Caught this at Blackpool Opera House this evening!
First time I’ve seen the show and I loved it! Great fun, feel good musical with a message of acceptance!
Top notch show with a fantastic cast - not a weak link there - which filled the vast Opera House stage.
Glad I went! Came out beaming! And the small group I went with love it too.
Bargain seats in Row H of the Stalls for £25!

Its not selling amazing in Bradford either so does anyone know any discount codes flying round? I might book the last row of the upper circle for £22 and move down in the upper circle. Do you think the tour is a good representation of what the west end production is because ive never seen it

Not sure who the cast are now but when I saw it in Birmingham I thought the Angels were very lack lustre. Somehow the show had lost its sparkle but that could just have been the night I went. However if it was in my area again and I could get a cheap ticket I would definitely go again.

The tour stop in Manchester wasn’t a patch in the WE production but then again I saw Killian and Matt Henry in London so that’s a high bar. |

I saw the tour twice in Edinburgh and really enjoyed it. It was very early into the tour and the cast were on top form. I am going to the closing night in Hull next month.

I’m so glad I made the last minute decision to see this ! Joel was incredible my first Charlie but listening to others hes my favourite. Acting was very strong and his voice was great. The show probably got going when Lola came in and that section was done really well. Good sound design, loud when it needs to be! But the opening number was so so so quiet but when we got into the big show stoppers it was ten times louder.

Was at the Theatre Cafe on Friday to see Kayi and Joel.They had hot-footed it over from Milton Keynes to do a Q&A and sing some songs(Step One and Hold Me In Your Heart).They also did photos with the fans.They donated a pair of Lola’s boots to the cafe.They said they couldn’t believe they had reached the final month of the tour.Great fun chatting to other MT fans.One lady told me she had seen the show 53 times...wow!

Closing night was amazing! You could tell from the get-go that there were a lot of fans in, with entrance applause for Demitri, Joel, Kayi and the Angels, and several standing ovations - after Sex is in the Heel, Everybody Say Yeah, Soul of a Man, and Hold Me in Your Heart. It made an amazing atmosphere for a special performance. At the end, Kayi and Joel did some speeches about how although the show itself is over, its message is more relevant than ever.
I hope this will go out on tour again in the near future!
