Is this even legal?
I have £238 worth of shows booked with TodayTix between tonight and 22nd April - all of which I imagine will (and should) be cancelled. As I'm now basically unemployed I am probably going to need that money!
Edited to add - especially for a measly 10% extra!

What good is a 110% voucher going to do if I bought tickets during Theatre Week? Isn't it illegal not to refund? I'm all for donating refunds to theatres but not when the company is actively truing to defraud people!

I just got my email through for tonight, with no way to reply -
Hello mrnutz,
The performance of City of Angels on 18 March 2020 at 19:30 was cancelled.
We’re sorry to see so many theaters close, but we’re inspired by seeing our community come together to keep us all safe. We know theaters will reopen, the show will go on, and you’ll want to be there when it does. This is why we’d like to offer you a TodayTix voucher worth 110% of your order value.
Voucher Details:
- 100% what you paid PLUS a 10% bonus: 110% of the original value - Can be redeemed on any show or performance on the app or TodayTix.com - Valid in any of our 16+ cities globally - Valid for 12 months
We hope this will make it easy for you to treat yourself to an upgrade or a few more shows in the future!

It's in the T&Cs of their "Buyers Guarantee" that they're entitled to refund via a voucher if they want:
It might be fastest if you take it up with your credit card company.

I'm all for donating refunds to theatres but not when the company is actively truing to defraud people! I e-mailed support@ to ask for a refund instead of the voucher that I'd been sent originally. Had a reply and confirmation around 10 minutes later that they had refunded the tickets (less the £3 booking fee).

I note that their T&C's say they may offer a voucher in lieu - not that you have to accept it. Glad they're giving refunds if asked, but I daresay lots of people will just take the voucher on the assumption that's the only option. They should really make it clear in the email that it isn't.

That's good to know about emailing, thank you. My tickets aren't till the end of April, but will assume they're not going ahead until I hear otherwise. Once we're nearer the time I will give them an email and ask for a refund.

I guess that is their whole plan, to hope that people won't ask. But as you said, they really should make it clear. I booked three tickets for Waitress, for me and two friends and got a voucher covering all three tix, which makes sense. But is not really practical for our situation. So used their FAQ form to ask if they can split the voucher into three, so we can all go and use the voucher for whatever we want, otherwise we'd like a refund.
Haven't heard back yet but no rush on our part, as there is no theatre to spend it on for a while anyway.

Don't know what happened there. I was trying to quote theatrecatlady about the refund from Todaytix. Anyway, I have now emailed them and heard nothing.

I'm wondering if this will apply if you make bookings now and they are subsequently cancelled? {Spoiler - click to view} Might be a good opportunity to get a guaranteed 10% boost on future TodayTix bookings

Hmm, bit of a cheek to have a 12 month expiry considering nobody knows how long theatres will remain dark. I wonder how strictly they'll be adhering to that and whether they'll still offer cash refunds if I left it, say, 10 months before deciding that there is nothing I want to use the vouchers for. I also booked three tickets and the couple I was going with are having a baby in August, so it's likely they'll want a refund, whereas I will probably take the voucher (for now at least). I've got two further shows booked for May, which I'm currently assuming will also be cancelled, so I'll wait until then and contact them.

Well I've tried emailing support@ too to see if it works as I would also prefer a refund on my Waitress tickets as opposed to a voucher. I have tickets booked via TT for OFAH later in the month too but I’ll wait until they contact me about the voucher until I ask again.

Haven't heard back from them yet but just an update, seems that TT have updated their T&C's regarding cancellations and they now say that they will offer the voucher but if you want a refund, then you can contact support via the web form and they will process it.

I received an email from them last night about a show I have booked for the 10th April, but nothing as of yet for shows I have booked on the 23rd and 30th of March! I'm happy to take the voucher, my issue is that all the shows I've booked have been on the Official London Theatre Week offer, so hoping there will be offers once theatres reopen so I can get similar deals. Thought at this rate, I just hope that shows reopen, it so sad seeing shows that wont open again!

I had two shows booked through them for NYC. Got the 110% email, to which I quickly replied to ask for refunds.
Yesterday, two vouchers came through, ignoring the request. I didn't reply further.
Today, I got two notifications that I'll be refunded. So, looks like they are honouring refunds, even if things aren't happening in order.

Still nothing back from TodayTix. Still being asked to rate my show in the app. 12 days since show date and not even an automatic voucher. I sent a message last week saying I was happy to accept a voucher in £ or a full refund.

Keep trying, Mark! Make sure you're emailing support@ - they emailed yesterday re OFAH that I was due to see tonight and that I’d be getting a voucher. Asked if I could switch voucher to refund instead and they said to do it when you get the voucher through and send them the order confirmation number. I got no response about a Waitress refund email that I sent last week, so resent it yesterday whilst they were replying quickly with the confirmation code and they said they'd process it ASAP and I got the refund in my bank account today.

Aren't their entire workforce at home responding to emails? The performance I was booked at was for the first day that any of the shows got cancelled (12th March). The performance was cancelled an hour after I bought my ticket. If I'm supposed to believe they are working through them in the correct order, I wouldn't have means to be annoyed.

The refunds for the US shows did come through to my credit card yesterday, so the rest of you should get them. Took about two weeks from when I put the request in.
