The website seems to have had a meltdown (Quelle Surprise) and I am semi-booked I think but waiting to hear back from the box office.

My guess is their website is crashing. When you call the number you get various degrees of "sorry but we're having lots of problems, call back in a couple of hours" type messages.

I'm not bothering chasing it. I was only going for a cheap ticket so no real loss.

Anyone who has "booked" online; Payments not going through but they do if you ring the box office with your reference as they have been reserved! My credit card has three separate pending £50 so hoping only one does go through!

Only took half an hour. repeated error messages like the one posted above, making a new account and a fair bit of foul language on my part - but have one of the £10 side seats so relieved, although considering heading to The Understudy for a drink to calm my nerves..

Do we know how long they are reserved? Looks like it's the same bug they had when David Tennant Much Ado went on sale. I looked back in evening and a lot of good seats were back then.

Delfont Mackintosh always have this issue when something popular goes on sale. If they've given you a reference number then your seat is reserved, but you will need to call them to get the payment part sorted. Try later this afternoon when the first flush of booking dies down.

I've gone ahead and booked a matinee ticket in Brighton on the 27th August

I couldn't find any £10-20 seats, were they only available on weekdays? I was limited in booking Saturdays then I panicked and ended up with front row balcony.

I was looking at evening! I sound like I am moaning, still happy with my seats as I haven't paid much more than I would have done and the view/leg room should be fine but I was right on it at 12pm and everything!

The Wyndham's is a great theatre for visibility, I've never had a problem even from the very back. And hey, we wouldn't be proper theatre fans if we didn't have a good moan on the day tickets go on sale for something.

Well I was a tad disappointed as I had £10 balcony nest seats for Press Night in my basket, put my card details in and then they just vanished!

However, not complaining (too much) as I managed to (eventually) get a £10 balcony nest seat for the Wednesday evening before PN - thank you theatremonkey for the heads up on those!!! - and £10 for 2 acting giants in a play I've been interested in seeing is pretty wonderful VFM.

Took me 45 to book, though. Was online & searching at 12pm and had the same online payment problems as others have had which was highly frustrating. Called the number on the screen and they gave me another number which rang out then hung up after a few minutes. Delfont Mackintosh also starting automatically hanging up on me during the automated call, too. Thought there's no chance I'll get them back now, but I sent them a tweet and - as if by magic - someone picked up on the alternative number, cancelled one of the dates I was looking at and booked me in over the phone.

So a happy ending for me, fortunately, but DM really need to sort their system out when they know they'll have a popular show on their hands!

Tried about 3 or 4 times, each time put the bank details in only for the basket to then empty itself - all the decent seats on the dates I was looking at have now gone - sod this, I'll see if I can ticket for Brighton when they go on general sale on Monday.

You might be aware but I found a general landline number for Wyndhams (Delfont Mackintosh?) which is 02078127498, which gets you through to the 0844 number via a dodgy method (I suspect).

Thanks, Snciole - I haven't made a note of any reference numbers, I'm a bit dubious about keeping on with bookings and then suddenly getting half a dozen confirmation emails (and a massive bill). I'd like to see this but I don't want to pay £95 or be sat right in the back of the balcony (or standing either) - I'll look at ATG's site on Monday (although if I go to Brighton, it's the August bank holiday weekend so hotel prices will be at a premium)

Just had a look at the Saturday matinee in Brighton for you, hasn't sold much to ATG priority members because of the high prices I assume.

Nearly all stalls £60, except for front row, back rows and sides at £50 and £45 behind the pillars. Same story in the circle, upper circle pretty much all £50, gallery all £35 and £25.

I'm sure it will sell better nearer the time, and it'll be nice to have the Theatre Royal full for a change, but silly prices for a regional venue.
