Friday 29 June - Sunday 26 August 2018 "KNIGHTS OF THE ROSE is a classic rock musical of Shakespearean proportions. Featuring the ultimate playlist including legendary ballads and timeless anthems from Bon Jovi, Meatloaf, Bonnie Tyler, No Doubt and many more. In this epic tale of love, betrayal and sacrifice, the noble Knights of the Rose must defend their House and their honour. Even as the chivalrous Knights return from a glorious victory, a greater threat against the kingdom stirs. As they face the greatest battle of the Age, and betrayal threatens to tear them apart, can true love and honour triumph? Woven from a rich tapestry of literature and high-voltage classic rock, this heroic new story charges its way into the heart of London this Summer." This is one seems to have been announced rather quietly. Anyone heard of it?

Their claim " Knights Of The Rose is a glorious fusion of popular culture, evocative of Game Of Thrones and Bat Out Of Hell." sounds like it would be heaven for me, but I'm very doubtful. Everything vaguely medieval claims to be the next GoT and the real BOOH is sort of next door this summer. That said, I like me some Bon Jovi too, so I'll wait for casting and first reports before I make up my mind whether it's worth a trip.

It bigs itself up quite a bit for a show at the Arts!

Just what the West End needs, another jukebox.

Will there be a wind machine? If there's a wind machine, I'll be there.

Will the nice gentleman in the advert with the muscular arms and the guitar hanging from his back be there? If so I could be tempted!

Knights of the Rose sounds like a Barbara Cartland novel.

Reading the marketing blurb I suspect a sword will be released from a stone and then lightness will reign

Directed and choreographed by Racky Plews with design by Diego Pitarch, Adam Pearce (Les Miserables) leads the cast alongside Chris Cowley (Wicked), Oliver Saville (Wicked), Rebecca Bainbridge (Mamma Mia!), Rebekah Lowings (Dick Whittington), Matt Thorpe (American Idiot), Ruben Van keer (Bat Out of Hell), Katie Birtill (The Last Five Years) and Bleu Woodward (Kinky Boots).

I am off to the press night because it sounded like the sort of loud, trashy musical my partner likes (and me, I like it too)

Black Sabbath meets Chaucer. What could possibly go wrong?

I was debating seeing this, I really like the songs/artists mentioned but the whole knights and battles isn't something I usually enjoy. Given that cast announcement though I'm going to book myself a ticket.

Did anyone see the West End Live sets? Caught the YouTube video. I was going anyway because Chris Cowley and Adam Pearce were in it and I haven't seen them since they left Mis. After the video I am really looking forward to hearing Chris.

Has anyone else booked for this? I'm going on the 5th July. Based on the set list I'm pretty excited! And I'm going to see Queen and Adam Lambert the night before. Needless the say the whole week is going to be pretty amazing! I normally don't really promote my blog on here but ngl I'm quite proud of this interview I just posted after chatting to Oliver Savile. Just thought I'd post it in case it was of interest.. www.talkstageytome.co.uk/2018/06/interview-oliver-savile-knights-of-rose.html

I'm seeing it on the 8th July, looking forward to it. I'll admit it's the set list and a couple of the cast members that made me book but it sounds like something I'll enjoy

Has anyone seen this yet? I'm a sucker for a rock jukebox musical. Is there a full song setlist anywhere?

I am not good at explaining myself so please bear with me I know what I want to say but can't express it. Excuse spelling i have no spell check.
SOME SPOILER OF SORTS TRYING NOT TO GIVE ANYTHING AWAY.
I went tonight I actually really enjoyed it. The songs although range from pop, ballad and rock do fit into it well. The story is very Shakespeare and those sort of love stories where people . I think the comic elements work also the talking to the audience and interlaced quotes.
I didn't understand why on earth a group of people sat two rows behind me (I was in H) thought EVERY start of every song was cue of hystrical laughter. That is the only thing that ruined it. I know the songs are well known but why on earth is it hystrical? So the start of pretty much most of the songs was a fit of laughter. I guess the other side... no one sang along!!!

This is absolutely slated by The Stage in their one-star review. Sounds so bad it may be a must-see.
