I returned my expensive ticket for a £15 one a few days ago - there were a few front £15's popping up. I've already booked my train tickets but the date is a while off yet - it may improve, or I might swap for Absolute Hell if a reasonably priced ticket for that pops up and reviews are good. Please save yourself Go to a museum Or for a meal I can make many reasonable recommendations Under £40 for tasty fayre |

I pity parsley's keyboard. It thinks it is an expert so writes in a quasi verse style. This prod is obviously on the rocks early on, but the delight some posters take in its deemed failure is beyond childish. Anyway. My first post. I doubt it He is the AD of the place And needs putting in his lowly place He is directing this A much heralded and advertised Well known play And he f***ed it up And we all knew he would He had all the resources and help he could have wanted at his disposal What does that tell you? He is just incapable and incompetent What’s not to enjoy?? Apparently it was 10 years in the making Him directing Macbeth 😂😂😂😂 I will host a party this weekend to celebrate his failure I give enough money to the NT And their gob is always wide open Even that’s not enough They always want more Why shouldn’t I have my Say?? There are some good exhibitions on, or I might go to the Royal Court instead - Absolute Hell is tempting but horribly expensive and I'm not that excited by the cast. |

In all seriousness, reviews like this will make the tour more of a struggle to sell - even with it being Macbeth. Word of mouth and reviews seem to be utterly damning. And for all the talk of it being a set text - that isn't quite enough to sustain a lengthy tour. I guess some people might book out of morbid curiosity to see what a flop really looks like - but there probably aren't enough theatrical masochists out there.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if the tour was curtailed/cancelled

Does anyone know the penalty
For an actor leaving a show
Before the end of a run
Is it something you can do
Go off sick
Or leave due to disgrace
Can any professional actors shed light
Obviously it’s different than the purely commercial
Where a show might close due to profit reasons
But in a subsidised venue
Are they so glad of the work they will just carry on?
Also as an actor
At what stage do you realise the show is in a mess
And it’s too far gone
And also doesn’t the director get someone to watch the show and run their concepts past a colleague?
Who may say
We have a problem....
It’s amazing that such things are allowed to happen

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the tour was curtailed/cancelled It’s funny due to the timing There have been articles on the radio In magazines All Over The place About the multiple Macbeth’s The recent dance show The NT The RSC And ROH So even before any of the shows opened There is heightened expectations It’s been almost set up as a sort of competition Hopefully The school Groups Will Go to the RSC and Barbican Seeing The NT will Be ruinous for a young persons Shakespeare education |

My work Is not in the theatre I do my Job well When I don’t I hear about it quickly Within hours or days If I make a mistake at work I reflect on it Apologise Have a discussion And if harm has been done see what recompense is needed If I make the same mistake repeatedly My Professional Competence and registration will Be scrutinised There is no reason why after 4 utter f*** Ups On the biggest stage of our NT Rufus Norris should not also take some small responsibility And see if he is fit for the job |

Best thing I've seen this year? Prob girl from the north country. Tho it was flawed by the central actress pulling focus in scenes where she wasnt the subject..good enough? |

Where hytner look's for modern parallels to illuminate and decipher the text for a modern audience for example, it appears Norris may well have hampered himself by setting an ancient play in a future world. The best of no worlds when it comes to an audience clarity |

It didn’t work at all
The costumes are the most bizarre

I am still in shock I think
Acting wise
Perhaps it was the gentlewoman
And also Malcom
Who were the best
For me
The only two actors who kept to the rhythm of the lines
And weren’t plagued with regional accents

The best of no worlds when it comes to an audience clarity I really Would go and see it And get back to us after you have done so The point is Norris Has NO concept NO idea NO insight Mad Max the film was set in a dystopian future It won Oscars for production values Once you have seen this staging Come back and tell me three things which indicate from the staging and action onstage that this is set in “a future world” Perhaps inside Rufus Norris head And that’s it There is no conception The set doesn’t match the play The costumes are at odds with the setting The fighting and action doesn’t fit with the future setting Cardboard boxes Voodoo Plastic dolls Poles This is all as a result of a director Actually having no real vision It hasn’t been commented on here I don’t think But the AMOUNT of CUT dialogue That was how they have reduced the running time?? Witches suffer the most from this Perhaps Norris can cut out some characters entirely next time He does a play Also I didn’t mind Lady Macduff So her and the gentlewoman And Malcolm They should just do a three hander |

Macbeth is my most seen Shakespeare. I enjoyed NTS's one man production with Alan Cumming most followed by James McAvoy at Trafalagar Studios. I've also seen several great student productions including one at RCS. I'm now interested to see how this will compare to these especially given the above comments and word of mouth that I've heard.
I do wonder if Rory Kinnear misses working with Hytner yet. Not that it's been long. How is he in this?
