Once. It was pencilled in to tour at the venue I worked at years ago but never happened. I think with the right cast this could do well on tour.

Once was due to tour in 2020, I had tickets to see it at The Alex, other tours during that time which didn’t happen or complete their run I had tickets for Curtains, On your feet, Million dollar quartet, My best friends wedding, Sunny afternoon, Thriller and Phantom. Such a shame as 5 of the 8 I’ve never seen.

Applause! Could surely get a nice revival somewhere like The Southwark Playhouse, no? Tracie Bennett strikes me as being perfect for it, if a touch too old.

The recent (2013) production at Chichester was very good - surprisingly as it was directed by Timothy Shreader (imfamously CamMac had a falling out with him as shown on a doctumentary at the time )although the leading man was nothing "special".This version later toured with Brian Coneley.The Meiner Chocolate Factory version (2018) was NOT due to the horrendous charisma lacking Marcus Bridgstock.The show really needs a multi talented leading man but then I was lucky to see the first (and last) night of Michael Crawford in the Palladium's first run. It's not a show I particularly like but if it was to be revived, Charlie Stemp is the only actor I can think of that could pull it off. Being revived this summer at the Watermill. Let’s see if they can repe their amazing success with LOTR with Barnum! |

I'd love to see Heathcliff revived, with an age appropriate cast and a fresh vision. I think it's got some great songs and has potential away from being a Cliff Richard vanity project. Oh goodness I had this on VHS years ago... I seem to remember it having quite a gorgeous score. What was the big/well known number in it? |

To be fair, I’m quite surprised that it hasn’t been produced more. It has some name recognition and is as lo-fi as it gets. Very affordable unless the rights are strangely costly?

Just listened to a podcast interviewing Sally Ann Triplett. Apparently she has investigated getting the rights to Kiss Of The Spiderwoman a number of times, without success.
She is very keen to play Aurora!

Two small scale musical revivals I would like to see again (NOT big WE productions please), are Do I Hear A Waltz? - there was a great minimalist production at the Landor Theatre a few *cough* years ago - and one which I saw many decades ago and remember fondly, was Jack the Ripper. Now if Landmark could do the same quality show with Jack as they did with Rent, but in the smaller Key Theatre, and maybe Sheffield Theatres doing the Sondheim in the Crucible Studio Theatre, I would be a happy little bunny!

She is very keen to play Aurora! More than happy to pay to see that! Sally Ann Triplett is excellent and would be brilliant to watch. I’d love to see a production of On The Twentieth Century as well and whilst I love Jenna Russell, I do think we deserve a Bridges of Madison County with a legit soprano. Maybe just a concert for the both of them - but we are WAY overdue a revival of Nine and Brigadoon. |

Was listening to Radio 2 this morning and they played Copacabana by Barry Manalow.
It made me think that this could be fun revived. I rather enjoyed it first time around with Gary Wilmot.
