Thought I'd begin a thread on this seeing as the show has now started in Leicester with Pixie Lott as Holly Golightly.
Also it's been announced that Verity Rushworth has had to withdraw from the production as she is pregnant and expecting this summer (congrats for her!), meaning Emily Atak will take over in her tour dates. She tweeted that the venues she was meant to perform at are offering refunds for those who wanted to see her.

Anyone seen it? Much different from the previous London production?

Have just got back from today's matinee, and really enjoyed it. I thought that Pixie Lott showed decent acting chops, and she had a really engaging stage presence. I also felt that the physical production was really stylish., with some really nice uses of lighting.
I can understand why this wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea though. There is little story, and it is more a character piece about Holly and Fred. I overheard some audience members saying they didn't find it particularly thrilling.
Whilst this is far from being the best thing I have ever seen, it is a thoroughly enjoyable show, with some nice performances and good direction. Worth a go. I would certainly go again.

I hated it. Most of the actors shouted their lines and I was sitting near the front so could hear the scenery arriving on stage pretty loudly. Sound levels were also all over the place. I didn't see the original London production but can't imagine this is much better. I'd have left at the interval if I'd been in a position to do so. This is one of the only productions ever where I've actively tried to nod off! I was really looking forward to it but was bitterly disappointed.

I see Georgia May Foote will be joining the tour at some point as she is starring in it at the Opera House in Belfast in November

Is there any nudity or dogs in this version?

Is there any nudity or dogs in this version? People who are new to our community will be very confused by this. I'm confused by it, and I was there.

My query is based on the Anna Friel version which I saw a few years ago which had nudity, (really for no good reason) and I think had a dog but not 100% certain. Hence my question.

I don't think there's nudity in this version by Richard Greenberg. Although they also used his text for NY which had nudity in. There's a cat though.

I've just come back from seeing this in B'ham and have to say I found it rather boring. I've never seen the film or read the book so didn't really have much idea of the story but having looked it up it's obviously much closer to the book then the film. I thought Pixie Lott was good, especially as this is her first acting part and she certainly had plenty of costume changes. I just found the constant narration by "Fred" didn't hold my attention. The cat, who was very well behaved, makes two appearances, one in each act and seemed to hold the audience's attention more than the actors! One member of the audience obviously found it so boring that he fell asleep and started snoring in Act 1 and didn't return for the second act.

Did the audience enjoy it though, other than that one man? How was the response, assuming that Pixie got the biggest applause?

It received what I would consider the "normal" amount of applause for this theatre. Three people stood up at the front of the stalls but that was all. I did, however, see about four people leaving in the interval (I was standing by the exit for the stalls area).

One does have to wonder why this is coming back so quickly after the last time. That one was dread-friel.
I thank you.

What's more surprising is the similarities to that production.

Saw it tonight, a good 7/10
The actors werent shouting but the bar did make an extraordinary amount of noise whenever it came on or off and yes the cat stole the show and the poor bugger after that fine piece of upstaging didnt even get a curtain call.
Cast are good and the lighting is particularly well done.

I don't understand why anyone would think it's a good idea to stage this again. It doesn't work at all on stage. It's just too beloved a film and Hepburn too potent a figure in the role to even begin to tackle again on stage. And with a Z list pop star. Gimme a break.

Its not currently a Z list pop star and its a different script from last time.
But feel free to carry on putting it down, most likely without having seen it.

Sorry.. Y list. I have no desire to see it at all thank you And it wasn't the script that was the problem first time.. It was the very fact anyone would attempt to do this on stage- and without a magnetic lead actress. . If people do actually pay to see it and enjoy it then I am glad they haven't wasted their money. Y'know that advert for Galaxy choccy, where Hepburn lookie-likie jumps off the bus and goes for a ride with a total stranger in a convertible? That's not a lookie-likie, it's AH's actual face CGI'd onto a real person. Who knew! I thought they'd just found some bird who looked a bit like her.

It uses images of her to create the CGI which is why it is a bit creepy. I don't think the end result looks much like her.

They're going for the Roman Holiday theme but using the song from Breakfast at Tiffanys. I'm surprised she didn't shout "Fanks for the ride guvnor, I'm a good girl I am" just to complete the hideous Audrey Hepburn mash up.
