No Tveit 'n' Tate, no Ryan.

Very soon after the sterling Jamie Lloyd/Menier revival, but it's one of my favourite Sondheim scores so will check it out!

A part from Tate, I loved the Menier revival. I'll decide after the cast announcement

A part from Tate, I loved the Menier revival. I'll decide after the cast announcement Oh God, I couldn’t agree more. Why anyone casts Tate in musicals escapes me. Is she really that much of a crowd puller anymore? Mind you, judging by their current production, the Menier seem to be repeat offenders in that department...

I didn't realise this was the theatre of that disgraceful all female production of Posh. Unless they cast Jenna Russel as Sara Jane Moore I'll suspect it will be a pass for me, as much as I adore Sondheim.

I thought the all-female Posh was excellent. The Lost Boy Peter Pan which was at the Pleasance over Christmas was pretty good too. I would expect a cast of emerging talent rather than any star names in Assassins but having missed the Menier production, I'm excited to see this.
Continuing the murderous theme, the week after Assassins closes, Buried the Musical is heading to the Pleasance. Well worth a watch if you fancy a musical romcom about two serial killers. It took the Edinburgh Fringe by storm last summer!

This is surprising, The Pleasance are not known for presenting musicals but the last thing I saw there was Assassins about eight years ago. I have to say it was a pretty amateurish production and not a patch on the later Menier version. I also find the venue charmless and uncomfortable but, as a Sondheim obsessive, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to resist it.

My friend has already booked for us to go and see this. Interested to see how it goes! It's not a venue I ever really think of going to tbh.

I've seen it with a cast of 8. You just need a lot of clever doubling to make the bystanders.

The Pleasance is best avoided. On the other hand, the RADA production sounds exciting and I am going next week.

I have a spare ticket for this on Tuesday (20th) that I'm looking to resell - completely forgot about this to be honest. If anyone’s looking for a bargain please message me!

No. It opened last night without a cast or creative team in place

Saw it tonight and thought it was superb. Great cast, clever staging and a really infectious score.
Hope it gets a transfer

Good to hear, I'm seeing this weekend. Caught the Menier production a couple of years ago and loved it, so was hoping this'd be good.

Generally good. I admire the young company’s ambitions - shooting high!
A couple of actors are not strong but then the rest are really good, especially Toby Pine, Andrew Pepper and the two woman. Also top marks to everyone for multiple lightening quick costume changes
The set is wobbly and it looks likes my dogs tail painted it. Ditch the amateur looking set and masks (which don’t work) and it will be really good.
I really liked the theatre and the bar next door. I’d be interested in revisiting
