Are there enough Laura Linney fans in London to fill the Bridge for three weeks with a monologue?

I really admire the Bridge - they're not playing it safe even though they presumably have a deadline by which they need to give investors some sort of return. I really hope it's successful.

I suspect n1david that the theatre is relying on the fact that there are plenty of people (especially in my demographic - women in their 50s) who are fans of both Elizabeth Strout and Laura Linney. Both the book and the TV serialisation of Strout's Olive Kitteridge did very well and Lucy Barton was serialised on Radio 4 as well as making the shortlist of many book awards. And, of course, those of us who are in middle age most likely have been following Laura Linney's career since Tales of The City in the early 90s. Given that so many theatre goers are middle aged it might not be such a hard sell.

Stunning actress with a director she's worked well with before. It might not have the Mulligan-effect pre-opening, but hopefully it will once up and running. Big venue to fill with a monologue though. I'm excited. (If you've never seen her, watch the Kenneth Lonergan film You Can Count On Me. Herself and Mark Ruffalo are just brilliant.)

I was happy to find the two seats in the front row I put into the basket were 15 £ each instead of 25 £, even looking forward more to this now.

I've just noticed an email from The Bridge about this. I'm not a huge fan of hers, I find her a bit "samey", and I'm not good with monologues, but I'd be interested for a cheap ticket.
Priority booking for members (£50 per year) from today, Advance booking (£15 per year) from Monday 29th Jan and Joe Bloggs booking from next Tuesday 30 Jan.

Interesting. Us souls who were "inconvenienced" by the moving of "Nightfall" can log in now and buy tickets for this - and get £10 off as well. I just snapped up a second row seat for £25. Not complaining at all. Ah, that's why! The Young Vic could learn from this! Very well done!

Are there enough Laura Linney fans in London to fill the Bridge for three weeks with a monologue? Some people - well (ahem), me anyway - are travelling from a fair distance away to see this. Judging by the number of seats already sold on the first day of public booking, I'd guess they shouldn't have a problem shifting enough tickets to make it worthwhile.

^Bet Ms Linney is already wishing she'd added an extra foot to that restraining order, eh, sf? Clever of you to spot that gallery 3 row C is 6 inches outside it, though . I'm, um, going to be sitting much closer to the stage than that, although in terms of how much I paid you're in the ballpark.

£15 day seats also available. How would I go about getting one of these £15 day tickets? In London on Saturday and hoping to catch the matinee. Otherwise might go for the £20 lottery on the day.

From the box office on the day, usually. Right, should've worked that out really shouldn't I! Incidentally can anybody confirm what the view is like from Gallery 3 in the Bridge Theatre? I see a few £15 seats are still left so might nab one of them instead of taking the risk, but is it a waste of money for the view you get?

For the avoidance of doubt, I wasn't being sarcastic. (It's sometimes hard to tell online!)
For that sort of query, we need @theatremonkey.

Saw this tonight. Laura Linney was, quite frankly, amazing. Sat in A10 - the best £25 I've spent in a long time.

Totally agree. She's really excellent. Enjoyed this a lot and would like to read the novel now. The girl next to me became quite emotionally involved and ended up in tears. Some bits are so sad and I guess, one way or another, we can all relate to the family issues this play focuses on.

Having sat in Gallery 3 row B for the Julius Cesar production, I can highly recommend it like @theatremonkey . You get a great view and sound at a bargain price. I have booked for future productions here without hesitation.

She is warm and charismatic. It's a real feat to hold the stage for 90 minutes and she seemed genuinely overwhelmed by the audience reaction. Just not sure about the dramatic narrative of the piece.
