That puts me off to be honest, did it really need to be updated to include all the covid stuff? That's exactly what I want to be escaping by going back to the theatre. And me. Exactly what you want to try and escape to be honest.

Yeah I'm going nowhere near it with all that stuff in. Awful.

No, it's inspired and progressive, which is what makes this show relevant. They can hide their heads in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist (like you would like to), but theatre is an agent of change and create great apathy and stay current. Well done.

I’m excited to see this version in January. After this is over it will go back to normal. The same as we will go back to full theatres in time. We will have special memories of these times. Unlike rent remixed this doesn’t seem to be change for change sake!

First time seeing this cast and first time so close literally on the stage .... don’t mind some of the references the drag Queen name was lame and fell flat ... I’ve always seen John. Before and loved all his little mannerisms etc I do like Noah but he doesn’t seem to inhabit the part fully maybe 🤔 But just on interval so will see Loved the little tribute to Barbara Windsor on the drag queens mirror ... just as an aside the bulb next to it flickered throughout x

It warmed up after the interval .... ugly was sang well ... he’s my boy she knocked it out of the park vocal wise ... lovely too see the guy back playing loco ( sorry I’m rubbish with names ) he was great as usual .... some of the one liners were wasted throughout sadly ... but still loved it and had a good night out .... must say the staff at the Apollo are some of the nicest and most organised I’ve seen in a theatre 🎭 Did think the covid stuff worked in places but did grate after a while

I'm glad some people are able to enjoy it even with all the covid references, but I just couldn't, so will avoid it until those are removed. I don't feel the need to have my nose rubbed in the mud just because mud exists. With fewer tickets available anyway, I doubt it'll matter.

I had two £20 second row stalls seats booked to see this show just after Christmas, following a Les Mis concert matinee. Both obviously cancelled.
Rebooked Les Mis for later this year but Jamie only booking till beginning of May so I requested a refund. They have actually refunded me for three seats instead of two ! I'm guessing the extra seat was one not for sale due to social distancing.
I replied pointing this out but my reply bounced back. Wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience with a refund ?

I'll leave it to the Mods to decide when a dedicated film thread is started. In the meantime, and in the absence of a firm release date, there are five new 'teaser' photos to be going on with. Have I mentioned I've got a small part? 😉

With Disney Plus about to launch an “adult” section in February and this movie being completely removed from Disney’s release calendar what are the chances this goes straight to streaming?

TallPaul Great news. I’m sure there is an Oscar or BAFTA award waiting for you and you’ll be getting a phone call from Hollywood soon!

Performances now suspended until 31st March, which seems... optimistic.

To coincide with the first anniversary of the tour beginning, Jamie Campbell was interviewed on local radio during the week. When his 'regular' work dried up due to CV, he initially moved back to the North East to live with his mum, Margaret. Despite him being her boy, he is now living in Sheffield. Things must have got really bad back home!
He doesn't know when, or if, the film will have a cinema release.
While the film was being filmed, he was filming one if those making-of films about the film. 🙂

You'll still have the opportunity to see it in cinemas (a la the Prom). For awards eligibility it has to play cinemas at some point (see Sound of Metal - out on Prime but in cinemas from this week). Great it'll be widely available but wish it was a solid theatrical release from the get go.
