To cut a long story short, Luke Bayer is clearly very excited about the confirmation of DEH coming to the West End. And reposted a video clip of him singing “Waving Through a Window” and he never asked for all of the attention, but a lot of people started retweeting the video and saying how he’d be great in the role and he was very appreciative of all the messages. Not hurting a soul. Then, Luke Baker, who is in the same cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie as Bayer, made an indirect comment about the situation something along the lines of “Are auditions happening on Twitter now?” Very catty, very snide. Everyone knew who he was talking about. I think he was trying to, very underhandly, take the mick out of Bayer but he’s just ended up making himself look like a complete tit. I’m just disgusted that this kind of behaviour exists within a cast of a West End show?! They should be lifting each other up and supporting one another, right? Or if they can’t do that, just keep their mouths shut? Personally, I don’t believe someone who is that childish, deserves to work in such a prestigious place. And you have heard personally from Luke Bayer that he was offended by it, and that other Luke and Layton were being mean-spirited? And that other Luke was reprimanded? If not, why are you getting so worked up about it)

Do we think it’s fair that now Layton has been confirmed as Jamie that Luke Bayer is now not allowed to stay as a cover Jamie and is therefore apparently why he’s leaving? As according to the casting breakdown I’ve seen they would need to be Mixed Race / Black / African American in appearance now.

He does his job well, so he "deserves to work in such a prestigious place". What he says outside of his work is none of your business. If you're "disgusted" by a random tweet maybe you should re-evaluate your own priorities. You buy a ticket to a show, but all that entitles you to is one show, not an opinion on how actors lead their lives.

I guess it's just the way it goes when the lead us a black actor and one of the parents is black, and in the show both parents make a point of saying they are natural parents, I can understand why they want only black performers in that role this go around. The only thing I hope doesn't happen is when Layton leaves and they cast a white guy, I hope the whole arguement of race doesn't come up for those who don't know the history of the show and it's casting. It should remain a universal role anyone can play, pending at least one of the parents match up. Seems like a big cast change, with John, Michelle, Luke, Shobna, Jordan and Ken confirmed as leaving so far.

Okay I managed to find the section of the webpage where it says Elaine Paige and I pressed on the previous/next buttons, which loaded other random celebrity/theatre names (Gok Wan, Jemima Rooper, David Morrisey, Courtney Act, and more) and then I checked what the title of that bit of the website is and it’s “seen at Jamie” so it was just that Elaine was at the show at some point as were all those other names so no Elaine playing the “mother” anytime soon! I would pay GOOD MONEY for David Morrisey to do it. "'E's MY BOYYY" in his strong northern burr. Plus he can kind of sing - Blackpool anyone??

Saw the matinee today I lost the lottery I never win anymore 😟..... box office although nice as usual wouldn’t sell any discount tickets this time ..... tkts had 69.50. Seats for around £43 .... so went for them strangely exactly the same seats as I paid £35 full price only 6 months ago ?? Is this the new dynamic pricing many theatres are dong now 5 th time seeing show including Sheffield .... and so difficult not to think of the amazing John as Jamie ..... but did my best .... and must say luke won me around in the end great vocals and some nice subtle differences in the character... but still prefer John . Shobna really settled and love her now , Margaret I’m sure I saw her once before .... although very good I did miss Josie she used to soar Really liked the new loco / Hugo they cut the Norma Desmond lines though No James Gillan ...... and I did miss him has he left or just off ?? Lucy was off for priti .... like the girl we saw very similar to Lucy gorgeous voice some of the comedy was lost though which was a shame ..... same with Jamie some of the one liners got lost Now miss visage .... well she did it her accent was all over the place and I think I’d have preferred her just in a USA accent .... she was ok and can sing she’s pretty new so once settled in may just give that little bit more All in all I enjoyed it but didn’t get that emotional connection like previous visits wasn’t blown away Mind you any chance to stare at Luke baker for 2 hours is worth it ❤️😋

Saw this show the other week for second time, after seeing it in August for first time. After my first visit, I thought the show was decent - not amazing - but good. Had no desire to go back a second time, then saw Michelle announced and wanted to see what she would be like as thought she wouldn’t do another West End show anytime soon. Went up to box office about 10am. Didn’t want front row dayseats so waited a while then finally went in and luckily there was none left so got Row F of stalls for £25, amazing seats and so glad we weren’t front row. Loved the show SO much more this time, don’t know what it was. It just seemed so much funny, I picked up in lots more one liners that were soooo hilarious. So much more feel good and cheerful this time, so glad I returned. Michelle was good for the role, I forgot it is kind of a small role. I agree I would prefer she just done the show in her native accent but so good to see her perform. Wish I went stage door. John is amazing, so brilliant. Whole cast are great. Lucie was brilliant as was Melissa as Margaret. Love Shobna too, she suits the role great. Daniel Jacob is also great as Sandra Bollock...he was off last time so we had Spencer Stafford (male understudy) on and couldn’t stand him as one of the drag queens. He had a hairy chest and everything, just didn’t suit the role unlike Daniel who was brilliant. Love the ensemble too, especially those who play Becca and Bex. So funny and all great dancers. Be interesting to see who is in the new cast. It’s a great show with some brilliant, catchy tunes. So glad I returned and will probably like to return a 3rd time. Not sure whether to go again before John and Michelle leave or wait to see Layton. Definitely recommend,
I agree with whoever said Clive Rowe should be Hugo, he would be amazing in that role. Also think that Sharon D Clarke would make a great Margaret when Layton joins, but know she will be in Death of a Salesman

Always been to the box office and always got a good discount even on NYE they gave me centre circle for only £35, and before that same seats I had today for only £25 ........ sadly they said today only had 2 single seats @£35 each only others I was offered was £69.50 each ! Said it was because half term etc it’s been very busy I agree with the understudy drag queen ... I really missed James Gillen who was off today

Thankfully, there are plenty of other ways to get reasonably priced seats, as you've noted.

Maybe I was very lucky in the past then 😯 Yep tried the lottery but no luck I’ve not won for about a year now 😟 before that I won 4 out of 5 times for other shows And yep luckily these days tickets are so much easier to research and to get discounts ..... I’m old enough to remember the excitement of the half price ticket booth queuing up for what felt like an eternity ques right round Leicester Square reading the boards with hand written cards ..... lol and having to pay cash !!! No cards or mobiles in those days lol 😂 god I feel old

Today the show celebrates a year in the West End! Amazing considering none of us were too sure it would make it this far and now look at it, selling amazingly well a year on!
