The dress was red at the Crucible, if I remember correctly. With huge red heels. It wasn’t very nice, but I took that to be on purpose. He didn’t borrow it from Dior did he. The dress for the drag show was red at the Crucible. For the prom scene, he wore a simple off-white dress.

Yes, I’d forgotten there was a different dress at the end.

When was the last time you went to the Apollo and see the Gents queue for the bathroom, snake out past the concession stand and to the steps down to the bar, this tells you a lot about the demographic of the audience and this theatre happens to be on the side of Soho. So this could be a big draw for the pink pound and do well on that strength. Well hoorah. If the gayers are all queueing for the toilet, they won't be at the bar! I shall be there tonight. We'll soon see if everybody's talking about Jamie then.

Opening night tomorrow night was previously showing as sold out, but now looks like they've put a batch of upper circle tickets on sale

Well. Judging from the wine soaked buzz last night, everybody really is talking about Jamie. Well that and why Vanessa Feltz decided that shoehorning herself into that particular frock was a wise choice.
It's a funny old show really. I really did enjoy it, it's very funny and incredibly touching without being mawkish and it's actually refreshing to see a gay teenager front and centre who isn't hiding in the closet and who finds such acceptance around him. It's an incredibly positive message which should be rightly applauded. I really enjoyed the score although I did strangely feel that the songs go on for a touch longer than they should. Dan Gillespie-Sells looks rather delicious though so I forgive him.
The cast is fabulous, Lucie Shorthouse (Pritti), Mina Anwar (Ray) and Phil Nichol (Hugo) are terrific (I want to be friends with Mina Anwar in particular) and Josie Walker is amazing. I don't think I've ever seen her in anything before but she's wonderful and her voice is a thing of beauty. It's such a shame that during one of her big numbers she's completely upstaged by a couple of young 'uns going full whack at some interpretive dance which rather distracts one from Ms Walker but it does raise a giggle. Also the rapping teacher needs to go.
John McCrea is something else though. You'd never know that this was his leading debut in London's glitzy West End. He is all over the show like an STD on 'Love Island'. And he's got enough charisma to power a rocket to the moon, you can't take your eyes off him.
Someone really does need to have a word with Jamie though. He's a lovely boy but he's got a shocking taste in frocks. RuPaul wouldn't even use them to wash his pots and pans. If indeed RuPaul did wash his own pots and pans.

I get the impression that the Rev Quentin Letts will...............................
At least we aren’t going to get “The National Theatre, which is the most subsidised Theatre in the country.”

I saw a picture of the real Jamie at the opening tonight... is his style messy drag? Because his eye makeup was awful, and the dress is a top bit that is silver, but then the bottom is blue with the Jamie posters on it. Its pretty terrible. Like, I'm confused.

I saw this last week and must say I absolutely loved it. It felt like a really modern show for 2017/2018
There were people around me absolutely sobbing during one of the numbers, if you can relate to this story in any way whatsoever it will pull on you thats for sure. But it was full of humour too. Such a great show in my opinion anyway! I do fear it may not find it's audience however.
Can't wait to see it again to be honest.

Yes And it’s not stylish 😂😂😂😂 What is it with you?! You don't like anything! Firstly, Kinky Boots won the Olivier for Best Costume Design (beating Bend It, ironically). Secondly, if you wanna see some amazing drag costumes, that is the show to see. Lola's final two looks in themselves are worth it! I mean, I get you don't like anything, but credit where due at least ffs.

People should not mistake Massively gaudy And tacky For stylish But whilst we are on the matter I prefer those from Aladdin They are much gaudier And for style The costumes for 42nd Street are lovely In any case The costumes for Jamie are quite horrific

I like the Metro's assertion that 19 is a small cast!
