Sonia Freeman productions is doing a Priority Tickets Sale starting now. Very pricey, all tickets in Stalls are £95 and £69.50. Is that per part? |

Just got access to the priority booking - considering I saw both parts at the Young Vic from the front few rows for £20 total, the prices are making my eyes water. There's some £20 per part tickets up in the balcony, but I think I might hold out for day seats/rush tickets. The £20 discount for both parts is only valid on £95, £90, £70, £65, £45, and £40 (per part) seats.

Can you imagine spending £70 to sit in the back row of the royal circle of the Noël Coward for six and a half hours (as the West End running time has been reported to be)? It's not the friendliest theatre for a multi-hour commitment. Unless you don't have any legs, I guess.

I've tried to buy some of the £40 tickets for both parts but website doesn't apply the discount so I'll leave it for now. Anybody having the same issue?

Yeah I was having the same issue when I was looking around at availability. Even after adding part 2 there's still a big blue button asking you to add part 2 (even though you've already done it) and the discount isn't applied. Interesting to see that the first row of the stalls that's on sale is row E. Fingers crossed for some day seats/rush tickets in the first few rows (depending on what they do with the stage - I think row C is currently the front for Quiz) |

Checking out the prices and the seat allocations for this make me sincerely regret missing this at the YV. Not for me then, this one. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for rush tickets.

Considering the tickets are quite expensive I think I will opt for day seats but just wondering is the front row on sale as I hope that’s we’re they are located. Am already wanting September to come soon!

I believe the discounts says it applies to only the top two price bands. It worked fine at 65. The reg price shows all the way to checkout but then your total costs reflects the discount.

Just out of the two play day. An absolutely extraordinary play. The performances were sublime, especially Kyle Soller, Andrew Burnap and Paul Hilton. I have to say that some of it was intensely moving, and as a parent of young boys I found Vanessa Redgrave's role struck a chord about how precious your children are. It was also so witty and light in parts.
I was sitting right beside Sean Mathias who was absolutely delightful - chatting away to him throughout the day and told him I was a big fan of The Exorcist! Ben Whishaw sitting directly behind us. 'Twas a starry day!

I have now seen it three times and absolutely love it, but I have serious doubts about the transfer to the West End being successful.
For me this is the kind of play that works better in a smaller fringe theatre. Something will be lost at the Noel Coward theatre, it's just too big. The intimacy will be lost and I just can't imagine having the same impact if you watch it from the last rows in Stalls or from the Balcony.
And also the prices, of course. At the Young Vic you can get a top price seat for £38 for each part, that increases to £65 in the West End so you need to fork out £130 for a decent seat for both parts. Or £95 each part if you go for premium seats.
And no early bird offers either, so unless the marketing people get their act together soon, I don't see this succeeding at all, which will be a real pity.

Just seen on TodayTix this morning there’s an ‘exclusive pre-sale’ being offered at the top of the app as soon as you open it. Doesn’t exclusive mean ‘not available anywhere else’? What about the other pre sale that’s also happening on the DMT website that some of us got access to yesterday?
The ticket prices are the same on TodayTix

If I hadn't already spent a FORTUNE on that other all day gay play this year I would just say f*** it and book. But my sensible brain is overriding. Just about. The Sonia Friedman Facebook page have just posted that the 2 part discount issue has now been fixed. I just checked and it's working now - here's a direct link to the presale incase anyone is looking for it. |
