Get in very quick on Wednesday morning, as there are £10 seats during previews at the edges of the dress circle. The end one in the back row has nothing in front, the end one in B has space for one leg. As the show happens centrally, missing stage edges won't be vital. If you miss out on those, the upper circle is also a tenner during previews. What time does the presale start? I’m on a 9.20am flight and keen not to miss this again!

I know you’re all waiting with baited breath to know how I am getting on with getting the tickets of my dreams. Luckily the Sonia Freedman mailing list priority booking just opened and I got the exact seats that @theatremonkey mentioned.

Any idea where the £25 seats will be TM The £10 stuff becomes £25 after previews, so restricted view dress circle and most of the upper circle. Good value. I've booked F18 in the Royal circle for £25 on 24/11. Matinee performance. Have to confess that I'd not heard of this play, but it sounds intriguing and I do like Patsy Ferran. I saw her in Blithe Spirit and I believe it was her first professional role.

This play is wonderful and Patsy Ferran breathtaking, but the stage here must be narrower than the Almeida because B21 and 22 in the Dress Circle are significantly restricted view. You can see three of the seven (?) pianos in B22 and four in B21. I sucked it up but husband was fussy.

Sorry to hear. I see they have the Royal Circle and the Upper Circle on the plan - which one were you in? My ticket is B18 in the Royal Circle. Hope the view isn't too restricted, @theatremonkey?

We sat in B1 and B2 on the opposite side and found the view quite good considering the the tickets are only £10 each. Yes, you don't see all the pianos but most of the action takes place centre stage so you won't miss a lot.

I switched to 22 for the second act and I felt like my husband was being a bit dramatic about “not being able to see anything” but there are definitely many scenes where I could see one actor and only hear the other. Final scene, Patsy Ferran is impossible to see for most of it from B22. I rarely book restricted view seats, and when I do, they are the end of the row ones in the Lilian Baylis circle at the Old Vic which I think have spoilt me for what restricted view actually is. (Yes, I know #firstworldproblems and all that.) £10 to see this play was a bargain, but i think saying it’s played centrally doesn’t quite speak to the bits you’ll miss. ETA I think how often you go to the theatre also plays in to it. I see so much that to not be front and central bothers me less. I would think that if it were more of a treat, less of a regular thing, you’d be grumpier about B21&22

ATG theatrecard holders can now book Band A tickets for £39.50.
You will need to book by 30/11. Valid on performances upto 7th dec for mon to fri shows or for matinees up to 27th Dec.

Loving the production pics which seem to suggest they've built the Almeida in the Duke of York's. Makes me wonder if they should just leave it like that and transfer everything.

Wonder if they used the same background cyclorama scenery as they had for "Mary Stuart" and "Hamlet." Or did they break them up and go from scratch each time? They have that background wall in storage! There is also a 'Sam Wanamaker Playhouse' set in the same warehouse!

I saw this last week and thought it was gorgeous. Patsy Ferran beautifully conveyed the innocence, longing and internal uncertainty of the minister's daughter struggling to find her voice in the world and understand her feelings, let alone show them. Matthew Needham really prowled around like a wolf, and not knowing the play, he kept me guessing about Dr John's true intentions. Top class supporting cast.

I wasn't quite as impressed by this as the critics and most posters here were - Patsy Ferran is indeed sensational but the play itself fell a bit flat for me. Other than Ms Ferran, the one spine-tinglingly brilliant moment for me was when.... {Spoiler - click to view} the shooting takes place, Forbes Masson turns out to have the most beautiful voice, everything goes slo-mo and the whole set briefly turns an ethereal shade of blue - it doesn't last long but (apart from Patsy) justified the afternoon for me My enjoyment of the afternoon was possibly impacted by the woman sat next to me - her afternoon consisted of reading her Kindle until curtain up, then a nice snooze with gentle snoring until the interval, then a glass of wine, then a continuation of the snooze through the second half. I nudged her as much as politely possible with very little effect.

Seeing this now and very much enjoying it from the first act. Show started 15 minutes late as one of the actors cut his hand on a glass moments before the start and had to be bandaged up.
