Phantom gave tickets away as a thank you for help at our wedding -back when it was new! Miss Saigon – can’t remember why, but didn’t go with Mrs Snow. Les Miz. Once Wicked. Twice
Guys I could agree with you – but I don’t. This thread is interesting because its full of LOVE. And let’s not forget, plenty of shows in the past have subsequently come to be recognised as great when many dismissed them at the time. Ours are just opinions too.
Anyone seen Wicked 1000 times? We took my nieces this summer and they loved it. We were sitting behind an old guy who knew all the staff by their Christian names and I’m convinced he was a paying customer. He was very happy with that nights display and a joy to be near.
(Teacher you’ve just been told off!)

Anyone seen Wicked 1000 times? Not sure, but I know of people seeing Les Mis, Rent and Billy Elliot over 1000 times. When Bat comes back to London if it runs for more than a couple of years I imagine people will get near to 1000; there were people that consistently saw it 3-4 times a week in the Manchester/London runs and I met three or four people who were not far off 100 already.

Yes, Mr Snow, you are right that this thread is full of Love and I too have my own list of much loved musicals to which I returned numerous times - not huge numbers but probably between five or six and up to maybe fourteen or fifteen and, in no particular order these include| Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Chicago Jerry Springer the Opera Spamalot 42nd Street and had it run longer ‘On the Town’
So I hope I can be forgiven for expressing my lack of love for ‘Wicked’ and echoing Count Orlovsky in saying; ”Chacun à son gout”

Oh dear, I feel well and truly told, Daniel.
What if I say I didn’t love “An American in Paris” or “Half a Sixpence” either but I am delirious about “Bat Out of Hell”?
Am I lost?

I'm afraid I have to agree with tonyloco. When I decided it was time I finally saw Wicked, I couldn't for the life of me see what all the fuss is about. I will, however, give it another chance at some point, to see if I was right or wrong.

I do wonder if different productions of the same Musical fit this thread?

Off the top of my head. SP = same production Most seen ‘show’ must be La Traviata. Maybe 5 different productions and at least 5 visits to the current(?) ROH one. But excluding Opera’s which do come round regularly.
Candide SP West Side Story Cabaret Chicago – at least 3x including the original London production.
Company Girl Crazy/Crazy for you Porgy and Bess (Opera?) Showboat Anything Goes Carousel Pal Joey 5x SP Sound of Music South Pacific The King and I Sound of Music My Fair lady Guys and Dolls at least 4 productions including the NT one twice SP Showboat A Funny thing Happened… A Little Night Music Company Follies Into the Woods Merrily we Roll Along SP Sweeney Todd Fiddler on the Roof
Jesus Christ! Superstar Wicked!

Grease must be well over 25 times. Also tend to see any production of West Side Story which tours. Seen Blood Brothers over 10 times down the years, also every production of Hairspray and Wicked which tours.

I can’t even think and wish I’d kept a proper list. There are lots of non musical plays I’ve seen multiple times, and as far as music artists Prince 17 times (was hoping to get to 20 one day) and Kylie 8 times, but musicals only:
Wicked - 12 times (5 with Idina Menzel incl her last show) 42nd Street - 3 Little Shop Of Horrors - 2 Sunny Afternoon - 2 The Bodyguard - 2 Kinky Boots - 2 Chicago - 2
Rocky Horror Show - 2

Memphis x45 Wicked x22 Kinky Boots x12 Les Miserables x8 Phnatom of the Opera x3
I also saw Starlight Express around 20 times and Sweeney Todd around 5 when working at a theatre, but I don't really count them as I wasn't an audience member.
I will also mention, although Wicked is my second most seen show I was also in the the " I don't see what all the fuss is about" camp the first time I saw it. It was Willemijn that made me return many times this year and I won't be going back any time soon!

42nd Street (x5) is now alongside Kinky Boots (x6), The Bodyguard (x9) and Wicked (x19) as the only shows I have seen 5+ times. And I don't doubt it will get higher soon.

Surprised that Rocky Horror Show hasn’t cropped up more in this thread as many people I know have seen it well into three figures of times.
It would be my highest by far too, followed by Priscilla and La Cage - you would never guess my sexual orientation 🏳️🌈😜

I get it has a fanbase and they do what they do, but repeating lines back loudly and the whole getting up and bumping your crotch whenever the first beat of Time Warp begins, I'd hate it, I know I would. And I usually don't kind mid song appaluse/cheering if it is earned, but it would just get annoying there. And somehow with this show it isn't seen as bad behavior, huh?! Sorry, rant over.

The last performance at The Other Palace I'm proud to say was the 100th time I've seen Starlight Express. Started when I was 10, so that's over the last 30 years! I am kind of glad I'm not the only one who's seen that particular show so many times. I'm at 135 if I counted right, but that includes 133x Bochum, 1x 2012 UK tour and 1x 2017 workshop. Followed by Priscilla Queen of the Desert (20x) Kinky Boots (16x) We Will Rock You (11x)

Wicked at 5 times is currently my most seen, I have another trip to London booked and many more for the new tour in my head.
I'm a serial offender of many shows unfortunately. I've seen very few shows only once. My excuse is that I like to make use of touring productions while they're here because my logic is I don't have to spend £50+ on transport.
Other multiple viewings are Hamilton (just once, but two more trips booked) and Les Mis and many a touring production.

I have never seen the same show more than twice in the theatre. But I've lost count of the number of times I've watched Legally Blonde on YouTube. 😊
