The Boy From Oz: 9 times.
Avenue Q: 6 times almost accidentally (various tours different friends wanting to see it)
Rent: 14.5 (I walked out of one...I won't say which but it wasn't Rent: Remixed, though I should have...)
I've seen Wicked 4 times which really makes me feel like I'm not trying here...
Plays wise, I saw Bent (Alan Cumming/Daniel Kramer version) 5 times.
Angels in America (both parts): 10
I've seen a lot of Hamlets too, but let's not re-live that some of them I'd forget. I've left the Shakespeare off in general because frankly I can't be arsed to count.
ETA: I did not see 'Ben' 5 times but Bent...

But it did launch me properly into theatre-loving. And it also (fun fact nerds) was the seed that started my 'AIDS theatre' professional life... |

Oh tell me it was the Caprice abomination Emmi! The subsequent tour without her was fine, even Rickitt showed a smidgeon of emotion but her miming TMOLM was a true low point in musical theatre. Think I’ve blocked it out.

We were absolutely hammered for (the first act of) Tommy Steele: What A Show at the POW about 18 years ago. Didn’t make it back for act two but may have created our second born that night so it wasn’t a complete write off. 😂

The cast were ALL amazing, Hugh Jackman, Stephanie J Block, Beth Fowler (who had me in tears at Don't Cry Out Loud) Jarrod Emick, and the fabulous woman who played Judy... cant remember her name! The songs, the staging. I paid top dollar and it was worth every cent! I have played the OBCR over and over. Too bad it never transferred. Now if only Andrew Garfield could sing....and we could have ourselves a new Peter Allen  |

this thread... I am really keen to examine what it is about the obsession of Wicked on this particular board, and wider.
It is plainly addictive to many people, and I'd really like to explore why..... (call it sociological study, if you will!)

I saw that! Mind you, I was underwhelmed with Rent in general. Good score though.

Not that many for me but I got to see Wicked for free, and was pretty plastered for the first half and had to rush off to the facilities three quarters of the way into act 1.

I may have seen the odd musical slight tipsy, but my record was certainly passing out on my hotel bed so drunk after a long lunch with copious amounts of red wine that I missed a show altogether. I remember waking up, realizing that it was 15 minutes to curtain time across town and thought "sod that". The show, by the way, was Sondheims Road Show at the Menier which I hadn't been too keen on to begin with.

I wonder if there are any other things that you repeat attend? Concerts etc? Or is just musicals? Is this an open question? I'll go to a Punchdrunk show as often as I can afford to (assuming they let me buy tickets, obviously not always a given!), and I've seen The Woman in Black a whole bunch of times. There are also certain Shakespeare plays I've seen a horrendous amount of times, but I don't think I've visited a single production more than 4 times. |

I too will go to Punchdrunk shows as often as I can. I fly over to New York about 3 times a year for up to ten days and do a full on Sleep No More binge. I’ll reach triple figures with that show on my next trip in January.

When Robbie joined Take That for a tour recently I went nine times. If money had allowed I would have gone every night. I know someone who went to that tour 25 times in the UK, Europe and beyond. A good excuse to visit new places!

Oh if we are talking concerts or artists, I've seen Little Mix live 6 times (hopefully 7 by next year). I have been to every tour they have done including their X Factor Tour.  |

My jaw dropped when I started reading this thread....my hackles rose at some of the choices ...and then I recognised fellow addicts. Addicts to the pleasures of a story told in song and dance.
So after reflection, I salute you one and all. You wonderful and I wish there were more of you.
(Probably Pal Joey, 5 x the same summer, about 35 years ago.)
