A great play! Saw it first time around at the Donmar.

Grandage is a busy boy next year with Frozen, Red and The Lieutenant of Inishmore!

So Grandage reunites with Molina from the original 2009 Donmar production; something tells me he might struggle to get Redmayne back though... (yes... Eddie's too old for the part now anyway etc)

Does anybody know when the booking for this opens? I have the DMT+ link to book but it doesn't seem to be working.

Seems a bit soon to be reviving this one?

By the time it opens in the West End, the Donmar run - a well-sold limited run in a tiny theatre - will have finished over eight years ago. How much time do you need? If anything, I'd say a West End run is long overdue!

Same director, same star, presumably the same production. It would have been more interesting to me if - after eight years - it was a different take on the play.

Yes, it may be essentially a belated West End transfer. But, eight years on from the original and with a new co-star, is it likely to be a carbon copy?

Many of us missed the Donmar run! Glad to see this come back.

Yes a good theatrical piece. Once is enough.

Can I ask a silly question. Is Red a 'proper' play, or a one act, no interval job? I know it shouldn't make a difference, but I'm afraid it does.

I can’t remember if it had an interval but it is somewhat one dimensional so not like say The Ferryman in length or scope. But we could go on for hours discussing definition of a ‘play’.

Many thanks, @xanderl. With the exception of Audra, a trip from the grim North has to be worth my while!

Opens tonight. If anyone has been holding back from booking this, DelMac have released plenty of £10 stalls seats throughout May. Just got Row B stalls so worth a look through.

Yes, thanks demonbarber - I had a £10 seat booked at the back of the Royal Circle, just called and swapped for row B stalls for a £2 exchange fee

This has been on my list for a while as one I wanted to see because of intrigue since it first ran and not getting to see it, as well as the fact I love Eddie Redmayne and so I've always been aware of it (I know hes not in this production!). On hesring about the £10 deal, I was lucky enough to snag the last centre, Row B seat for Wednesday 16th May's evening performance as I was in London anyway to finally see the matinee of The Ferryman! So thanks for the heads up!
