They seem to have dropped the midweek matinee and scheduled two shows on a Sunday this time, except Easter Sunday when there's no performances.
Booked for Easter Monday and Sunday 22nd April. Not really one for seeing the same production multiple times but I can make an exception for Spring Awakening. It's probably the one cast recording that I know word for word!

There’s a show Saturday 31st at 5pm for £20 + £1.40 fee which might be handy for anyone travelling. Easter weekend though!

The auditorium is adaptable to suit the production. I've seen three shows at Hope Mill and each time the layout has been different. |

I think pretty much every time I’ve been the layout has been a thrust of one type or another. Beyond that it’s very hard to say because the space is very flexible and with 3 possible entrances to the auditorium and you never know if what was backstage at a previous show will now be the audience entrance. It’s a lovely theatre, hope you enjoy your first visit! |

First preview tonight and that was a very accomplished performance. Not a foot wrong by the hugely talented and diverse young cast and good to see the adult roles played by age appropriate actors (Pippin!).
Design great, band (off stage) fantastic, LOVED the lighting which brought elements of a rock concert with banks of lights and spots. But I’d say it was a five star production of what I felt was a three star show. The book is odd, and when you boil it down not a great deal happens in Act 1 which dragged for me. It picked up massively in Act 2 and the last song which I assume is called Purple Summer looked and sounded stunning. There were some brilliant musical moments but far too many “filler” songs for me. Fantastic voices, occasionally drowned by the band but they’ll get that sorted I’m sure.
This is is definitely in the category of “musicals about subjects you wouldn’t expect to be a musical”. I think if you already like this musical you’ll love this production.

I enjoyed it, stunning venue and great production values for a fringe type venue. This venue which I went to for the first time this evening, but seen their other productions elsewhere and they certainly know how to punch above their weight? Love Spring Awakening and excellently performed.
I like everything about this type of theatre and their ethos and wish both Joseph and William all the best in their endeavour, they have achieved a lot in just over a year!!!

It’s the one right next to the bar. And it’s a thrust, with about 10 rows of tiered seats facing the stage with a two rows of seats either side. On the sides the first row is floor and the second is the stool seating (which I’ve sat in and are fine). I don’t think there’s a poor seat for this, even if you got there late. |

Was you outside afterwards in the rain, on your phone trying to get an Uber or something? If so I walked past you with a case, going to the tram. Don’t know if you remember? would have said hello to you, but didn’t see your badge and also you cannot just walk up to people and say “are you Burly bear”, you kind of look a right Tw*t if you ain’t. |

Great venue, incidentally Joseph and William were sitting next to me, at Miss Saigon on Tuesday, they’re a gat couple and sure they will be successful.

I think if you already like this musical you’ll love this production. Glad it's good. I'm there on Monday and looking forward to it. I've only seen the Deaf West production before, which was rather unique. The auditorium layout sounds like the Pippin layout. How is the queuing working this time? Also, any gunshots or explosions in this one (feel free to put in spoiler tags)? There weren't in the Deaf West production, but that was unique and I remember there was a place where a gunshot could have happened. Would just be nice to know to save me sitting on edge all show. |

No, that point in the story is dealt with differently. No bangs. The modern choreography is quite loud, heavy boots stomping on the wooden stage when the boys are dancing but it’s not jumpy.
Yes it’s a similar layout to Pippin although the stage isn’t raised. Coloured token when you check in at the bar so do that immediately as you arrive. Then the audience is seated in three groups based on what colour you are. The only place to avoid if you’re not tall is the second row of the tiered section facing the stage because it’s on the floor, so you have people at the same level in front.
