Help appreciated in suggestions for best show for two boys. They loved Wind in the Willows and have seen local shows too but not much experience of big shows.

I believe there's a child friendly Christmas version of 'The Showstoppers', possibly in Leicester Square (that's where I've seen all the signs).

If they loved the Wind in the Willows then maybe the Lion King, Aladdin or Matilda would be a good idea? I don't like Annie myself but I guess that is child-friendly. I thought about School of Rock but I've not see it so they might be a bit young for that. For something a bit different The Very Hungry Caterpillar is at the Ambassadors Theatre and I think Disney on Ice is still touring. |

Assuming it will be for the festive season, Nativity! is a pretty good show.

+1 for Matilda assuming you're close to London. I'm taking my 5 and 7 years niece and nephew on Boxing Day. Very excited  |

I agree with the Monkey about the Palladium panto - last year the kids around me were extremely quiet for a panto audience and it didn't really seem to be aimed at the kids.
The Peter Pan arena spectacular at Wembley looks amazing. It's only on for a limited time just after Christmas and is starring Bradley Walsh and Martin Kemp, who are thoroughly likeable and also boasts BMX riders, stuntmen and trapeze artists along with a 7m long animatronic crocodile (whatever the fork that is!?) and a Jolly Roger sailing around a 10,000 gallon water wall.
Sounds like it might just be up 2 little boys' street! (Though you'd have to suffer the horror of Wembley Arena's hot dog and burger diet but you can't have everything I suppose....)

Thanks, some great ideas. I think I’m going to go for Matilda in the New Year. I have seen it myself and it is quality. Lion King def on the list. I’ll be looking for cheaper seats. We got a good deal for W/W. Much as I would love the animatronic crocodile, I don’t think I can face Wembley Arena, not just the hot dogs but getting there and then out again!
