The old girl is back out on the road next year. Liverpool, MK, Woking, Bolton, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Brighton. A week in each May > July 2018. Presented by 'Spirit Productions'. Remember seeing this a child in Blackpool, with Jason Donovan perhaps, or someone of that ilk. Not my bag these days.

Yep. The night we saw it in Blackpool was delayed for over an hour as Darren Day had to fly in from Top of the Pops in London. Those were the days...

The casting from previous tours is hardly encouraging me to book this one!

I think it starred someone from Hollyoaks ages ago when I saw it at Bromley.

They should bring it back with Cliff and Una! That'd get a few more punters in!

An assumption gathered from the rather interesting fact that Bolton Octagon's production falls in the last week of May - a week when this tour is mid-run but isn't listed at a venue anywhere. Confusion isn't helped by the fact its doing a run in ATG venues and then Leeds Grand, which isn't.

That was Claire Buckfield. A twin if I remember rightly! Yes! Was in 2.4 Children on the telly but more famous for going out with Dec from Ant and Dec. The amount of useless info in my brain astounds me at times.

Claire did the original tour and was Dec's partner for about a decade. Claire's twin Julie Buckfield was in Hollyoaks, both girls were in Grange Hill.
Stefan Booth from Hollyoaks played male lead in a tour circa 2003, Suzanne Shaw was the female lead.
Show is lightweight but a fun show and with decent casting should sell okay, Cliff fans and older people will lap it up plus it is the sort of thing you could take children to, knowing it won't be risque.

Ah yes, I saw the Stefan Booth tour. And I have the Darren Day VHS! Hope I get to see it - I remember it being fun and there are some catchy tunes.

Darren of course went back into the role after Stefan and got with Suzanne. One of his many liaisons with his leading ladies. He was also with Isla Fisher when she played role back in 1998.

^ Yes this has been pointed out already. Strange that the show has been licensed for 2 professional productions simultaneously. As there wasn't a proper official press release for this and Boltons production occurs during a dark week for this tour, its not surprising an assumption was made that Bolton was part of this tour.

I saw the last Saturday matinee in Blackpool with Darren Day. All I can remember is screaming every time Darren appeared and an obnoxious girl next to me keep snapping at me in case I damaged the cake she'd made for Darren.

Ray Quinn playing the lead for the UK tour I was trying to decide whether or not to book this. Definitely won’t bother now. Can’t stand him 😂

Not an inspiring choice I have to say. Wonder who the leading lady will be.
