Do try to catch a sensational production of Threepenny Opera at the Bolton Octagon, with David Birrell in deadly charmer mode as Macheath, and Eric Potts and sue Devaney as the loveably ghastly Peachums. Lots of tutting in the audience, which is always a good sign that the piece is working. Two more weeks to see it. Fantastically ballsy orchestrations too.
