I’m the last to be negative about a new musical, or CFT, it’s very slickly staged, but caught this over the past two days but it’s hard work. Very little actually happens, which is sad given the calibre of casting. What a shame. Would love to see some other CFT musicals streamed, they are usually brilliant but felt this wasn’t a winner.

I watched it online a second time yesterday, having also seen it in Chichester. I’m always underwhelmed by the music in this, whereas the performances are first class. Some big numbers would have been more uplifting maybe. However when I watched yesterday on laptop and using earphones (!), it came across as more of a chamber piece and I actually think it might have been better in the Minerva.

It's such a barn of a space. I try and avoid it

Good news if you loved this show as much as I did: it seems they're recording a cast album.
If I had to be picky, I'd say I slightly preferred a couple of the Sheffield cast - but it's wonderful that a show like this is getting recorded at all, and I'll be first in the queue to buy it when it's released.

Oh no count me out! The score was painful on the ears. A whole load of relentless noise.
Can’t quite believe they are spending the money on this, unless the composers are funding it.

Update on the cast recording from CFT -
We're delighted to announce that the cast album of the hugely acclaimed musical Flowers for Mrs Harris, recorded by the Chichester Festival Theatre company, will be released on 3 December. The cast album is available to pre-order today from iTunes and on CD from Dress Circle.

Couldn’t imagine anything worse than listening the this awful score again!

I saw this both at Sheffield and Chichester and found it a delightful show which I'd revisit any time but without any memorable songs so not a soundtrack I'll be buying.
Shame they haven't released Oklahoma from last summer instead, that certainly stands up for repeat listenings.

Thoroughly enjoyed it at Chichester but unsure how it will come over on CD.
