John Hurt confirmed as Billy Rice - tried booking through the Nimax website and every damn seat they're offering is behind a pillar - anyone know any other website/agencies that let you pick your seat?

OMG I am so pleased I've booked for this wonderful news. 
Marwood have you tried the matinees ? A girlfriend of mine just booked for the matinee on the 1st September and got decent seats ( at a price ) |

No luck, every show I've looked at on Nimax's seat, matinee or evening, keeps offering me P7 or Q7 (I'm not willing to go beyond £50 for a seat) - ah well, sure I'll find something else to see.

I'll wait until closer to the time and see if any of the other usual suspects have got anything on offer, tried See Tickets and again getting P7 (and I'm loathe to pay the booking fees them and Ticketmaster charge on theatre shows)

After reading this thread, I randomly chose a few dates.
For 22/10/16, evening , you can get O7 for £35.
Again the bloody pillars are mentioned.
But it is a row nearer and £15 cheaper

Cheers Monkey, looking at what else is on offer apart from the dreaded P7, the prices are making my eyes water - I'll wait until closer til opening time and hope there's some decent offers about (and also hope no one else remotely famous joins the cast and causes mass bookings) |

I've booked for this, resorting to londontheatredirect just so I could select a seat. Why is the Nimax website so utterly horrible? I don't WANT the best available seat, I can't afford it!

That's a shame and I hope Hurt recovers fully.
I wonder who will replace him as I cannot imagine someone of that standing, who is also available?

I hope he takes the time to recover thoroughly and looks after himself.
But also he was my main impetus to actually bother seeing this, so if they don't get someone similarly awesome, then there's a good chance I'll be booking something else for that afternoon now...

He was also the only reason I had to go and see this (gave up on tickets round the time of my original posts), I wish him a full recovery and hope they manage to get someone of a similar standing to replace him.

Very sad news about Joh Hurt withdrawing. Difficult trying to think of an actor than has a similar standing of John Hurt that could be a viable replacement. Two of the prime candidates, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are already taken at the Wyndham's up the road!
I can think of a lot of actors that would be right for the part but don't seem particularly willing to commit to such a long run (Gambon, Anthony Hopkins, Michael Caine) while there are equally another set of actors that seem too young to play Branagh's father (Jeremy Irons, Bill Nighy, Jim Broadbent, Tom Wilkinson). Very torn on who the replacement could be - if it all it could match the stature of John Hurt.
