Sniffer dogs on entry? Has it become that sort of crowd? Haha.

Is this closing earlier than the previously announced 31st August closing date? It is now only booking until 1st June, and I could have sworn it was previously booking until the August date.

Group bookings are until 31st August so I’m guessing they’re not releasing the public bookings until a later date

Interesting to see this featured on BBC's inside the factory as a pantomime tonight!

I've just had a look at the website, obviously we all knew it was announced it would close in August, but I've just seen it's only booking until June 1st now, is it closing early?

Well I made a visit last night, hadn't twigged it was closing in August (although of course it is, to house Mary Poppins).
Previously, I've only sat in the Circle. This time, I sat in the front row Stalls and the view and whole experience is much better from there. The only downside is you can see how a lot of the tricks are done and even the wires on the magic carpet.
I can see why it's closing. The dynamic pricing is throwing up some excellent seat deals right now, so my front row seat was only £32. The theatre did seem full (with the usual annoying people in the row behind who kept moving around, eating what I presume were crisps and having conversations in their native language).
Matthew Croke continues to be very good as Aladdin, particularly during his solo of Proud of Your Boy. Trevor Dion Nicolas as Genie looked rather tired and I notice they've cut down some of his spiel.
Covers were Ricardo Spriggs as Omar (making sure he looked cute and smiled sweetly, which I presume was the idea) and Richard Murphy as Razoul (perfectly fine).
May nip back before it closes. Some of it is rather cheesy, but it's perfectly entertaining. Would still like to see a cover in one of the main roles.

I believe Jade Ewen has left quietly due to vocal nodules as the understudy Jasmine has been on consistently for a while. So I imagine Courntey Reed is there to replace Jade and get the ensemble/swings back to normal.

that's so exciting, love me some Courtney Reed. That could be the casting to get me back to the show!

Always like Courtney Reid- but don't think it's enough to draw me back sadly. Wonder why Jade's gone?

not really, no different than when Amber was ill for like a month at Dreamgirls, get someone who has already done the role in to do it rather than mess up the whole cast for a month. Enter Marisha.

Might actually try and give this show another shot. Wasn't a fan the first time - found it a bit panto. I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed with Jade Ewen's vocal performance.

Caught the show last night on a £20 lottery ticket (Stalls A10).
Had a great evening - good fun, hard working ensemble and an incredible number of costume changes!!
Wasn’t on my list to see, but tried a couple of lotteries and this one came up with the goods! Glad I’ve seen it!!

I took my other half to see this a couple of months ago. He's a big Disney fan and I tend to quite like the movies.
We both thought it was serviceable family entertainment but hated the lazy pantomime elements. I didn't enjoy a second of the Genie tbh. From the circle, the flying magic carpet was beautiful staging but I thought the production as a whole was strangely lacking in the joy department. All power to it though, it's certainly done the business over the last few years and I know people who love it.

Was in Wetherspoons in Leicester Square with my daughter last year when we encountered a group of ladies of a certain age who were dressed to the nines and dripping in bling.Got talking to them(as you do). They were on a coach outing from Leeds and were the worse for drink.Their table had every beverage known to man scattered around. They took to my little un and made a fuss of her. They informed me that they were ‘just having a top-up’before they set off to see Aladdin of all things. Not sure if they made it to the theatre in the end or managed to breach security 🍷.What a lark!

Just reading on Facebook that the magic carpet hasn't been working for a few days now! They sing Whole New World on the windowsill instead.
I wonder if they're going to bother to get it fixed now the show only has a few weeks left to run?
