Look Out - A pirate film
This was just about the most ridiculous film Mischief have done to date, and it was hilarious.
Henry Shields seemed unable to follow the plot or remember any names, the council of elders dance off was one of the funniest things I've seen, Nancy as a chicken, Paul who loved his sticks, Mike Bodie referencing Bank Robbery with a fight between his 2 characters, and of course Henry L, Harry and Nancy doing ballet - it was bizarre but incredibly entertaining and I can't wait for the sequel.

Quote of the afternoon from Dave 'I fear we have reached an intellectual cul-de-sac' Though descibing what was happening as intellectual was far, far too flattering!

Mischief theatre doing ballet - I hope the Royal Ballet were watching and taking notes. I hope Mike Bodie's crow makes a reappearance in the sequel, some fantastic acting there.
The sequel is going to be crazy.

Look Out 2: They Sphinx It's All Over
All semblance of a plot left the building very early on - a lot of incredibly random (and very short) flashback scenes, the Mayor of Wapping just wanting his hat, the sphinx and his riddles, Olly Bottomdeck and his octopus puns, the extended ballet sequence to find Captain Hendricks, one of the members of the Council of Elders being kicked out of the meeting in a reference to the Handsforth Parish council viral clip, Oscar being particularly mean to Harry (and Harry doing very well), a lot of props being misplaced, and the most amount of corpsing in any movie so far (particularly from Henry Shields).
I've loved all the movies, but the films where the plot goes and it becomes chaotic are my favourites, and the 2 films today were right up there with the best of the live streamed shows so far.

Great double-bill of 'Lookout' action tonight.
Interested to see who makes it into Oscar's seat over the next 7 performances. Hopefully Jonathan will find his way into the improvising cast for those shows too. Would be nice to see.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong but have Lauren & Josh not been in any of these 'final date' shows? To be honest, I thought they might have been kept out of yesterday's shows in order to keep the cast on rotation for the double wammy today but apaprently not. I wonder if they'll be in any over the next couple of weeks. A shame really if not.

I suspect Josh pops in when he's not on the rota in his day job at the hospital. No Lauren as yet, I was maybe wondering if, because most of these shows were put on last minute, maybe she had some other work (maybe with Showstoppers) booked. I hope we get to see her again before the run ends.

I'm really looking forward to seeing who we might get as Oscar next week. Based on people who I've heard have done it in the past, Harry and/or Dave seem the most likely. My other thought was maybe they could get Charlie in to do it, given Oscar's not physically demanding. Look Out 2: They Sphinx It's All Over Best title so far of the Jan/Feb shows. I was rather surprised Oscar took any other suggestios after that first one, especially given he's accepted some far weaker titles with trying for alternatives in previous shows. I suspect Josh pops in when he's not on the rota in his day job at the hospital. No Lauren as yet, I was maybe wondering if, because most of these shows were put on last minute, maybe she had some other work (maybe with Showstoppers) booked. I hope we get to see her again before the run ends. Showstopper are only doing 1 streamed show a month. They had one on 30th Jan & the next one is 27th Feb, so whatever else Lauren might be occupied with it isn't Showstopper.

The sequel Sunday double bill was a fantastic watch and worked really well. I just hope that if Mischief decided to do any more streamed shows this year, we get another one of these and fingers crossed a triple bill! With the usual madness and chaos from the group, I loved the little nod to the Handforth Parish Council YT video with the Council of Elders. pianowithsam, totally agree with you about Jonathan Sayer. Hopefully with a new OSCAR, we will get to see him in the ensemble in some of the dates. Having missed Henry Lewis as OSCAR, personally I am hoping he will take that role.

Given Jonathan said at there would be someone totally new in the chair, I took that to mean not Henry L as he's already done 2 shows as Oscar in this run. Only 4 days of suspense to go....!

Character suggestion: Chris Bean as Oscar : ))) That would certainly be amusing. He'd probably have even worse meltdowns than Jonathan's Oscar has!
That also reminds me, did anyone else notice Henry L going all TPTGW when Bigglesworth was unexpectedly killed at the end of the matinee yesterday? "Charlie...no..."

I noticed that, and also the Bank Robbery reference with Mike Bodie's solo section in the sequel with his 2 characters facing off.

Not that he ever did the 3-way fight in TCAABR, as he didn't cover Everyone Else!

I'd like to see Harry Kershaw as OSCAR because I want to see more of the Harry Kershaw / Jonathan Sayer battle.

Going by Twitter comments, I'd say Harry as Oscar would definitely be the most popular option among those who have been watching all the MMNs since December. I can't believe the company are unaware of this, so hopefully they'll give the viewers what they want!

Mischief Twitter have posted 3 riddles to hint at who is playing Oscar this weekend:
Riddle One: 𝚆̶𝚑̶𝚢̶ ̶𝚊̶𝚖̶ ̶𝚜̶𝚗̶𝚊̶𝚔̶𝚎̶𝚜̶?̶ Both animals before they have played, The memories of which with us have stayed
Riddle Two: One of them before has prepared their finger Though with four possible people, you require a thinker!
Riddle Three: The other in poison has dabbled before. That is your lot. Clues have we no more...
I'm trying to work them out - bit confused as to why there are 3 riddles when there are only 2 shows.
My guesses are Bryony Corrigan and Henry Shields (or Dave Hearn).
They're announcing the Oscars at 12 tomorrow.

Trying to go into this thorougly! Frankly the results are inconclusive!
The animals one isn't very helpful since, only considering the livestreamed MMNs & not all the previous ones I've seen in which animals featured, there's still lots of memorable animals:
every character in Who Bun It (cast Niall, Ellie, Harry, Mike, Dave, Bryony, Josh, Henry L)
Batley the bat in I Found It In The Bushes (Dave) Jefery the koala in From Russia With Gloves (Henry S) the tiger in Dressed For Danger (Mike) the gastronimc illusion fish & squid-man Gerald in The Suicide Squid (Henry S & Henry L) Mischief & Eggbert the chickens in Lookout/They Sphinx It's All Over (Nancy & Dave)
Finger preparing: Bryony is most associated with this but Niall, Dave & Josh also did some.
Poison:
Who Bun It Ellie poisoned Harry & Mike, except Harry wasn't really dead and he then poisoned Niall Dressed For Danger Nancy poisoned Bryony

Lauren is the only cast member not tagged in the announcement post, so I'm not sure if she'll appear. As 2 of the cast members most likely to make things less family friendly, I'm looking forward to seeing what mayhem Nancy and Bryony can get up to.

I'm probably reading too much into it (you need to click on the tweet to see who is tagged, Nancy doesn't have Twitter) - I hope I am as I've loved Lauren's performances and she is a brilliant improviser. I would love the whole cast to be at the final live streamed show, but I'm guessing there isn't enough space for everyone to be there from a social distancing point of view.

I was thinking that with Nancy & Bryony both busy chairing that meant the ensemble would be rather short on women, therefore making it more likely Lauren might appear. Although, since in one of the MMN shows at Regent's Park Bryony was the only woman in the ensemble, I guess it doesn't bother them much! I wouldn't get your hopes up for having everyone in for the final show. I've been told by someone involved in the production that only people directly working on each show are allowed in the studio.

What's the Pointe?
A Scooby Doo style comedy mystery
Great to see Lauren back doing her thing as Susan. Henry Shields as the lead teen detective with his 'going through puberty' voice was very entertaining, as was Henry Lewis as his dog 'Rooby'. Harry Kershaw with his appalling French was very funny, as was his ballet dancing. Niall Ransome throwing in all the classic Scooby Doo catchphrases was a nice touch. I enjoyed the Broadway style number that Niall sprung on the other guys - Niall is the best singer of the 4 doing that number but they all made it work. My favourite sequence was the 'worse news, bad news, mediocre news' sequence.
Nancy did a great job as Emmy, really kept it going nicely and through in some good plot twists - excited to see what Bryony brings tomorrow.
