Enjoyed this a lot. Probably helped by no technical glitches. Some obvious drops in intensity, and the costume for the non-mouse children are poor. The rest is in keeping with the spirit of the show. The little mice even managed their little dance at the front of the stage. Daniel Rigby was the standout for me. And yes the songs aren't particularly memorable but I don't think that matters ina show like this....

I saw on Twitter (X) that Rishi Sunak was in the audience the other night. Political beliefs aside. Found it creepy that a photo was taken of him considering he was with his children. Weird...

I thought this was pretty damn good. Sally Ann Triplett was wonderful, Katherine Kingsley fantastic and Daniel Rigby essentially reprised his role as the Maniac and I loved every second of his performance!
The kids were great, especially William Skinner on as Bruno. He had the Olivier theatre in the palm of his hand for long spells.
But it is missing genuinely rousing or inspiring numbers. If they can dig something out and add in a few big show tunes, this could be even more of a hit than it has been so far.
Excellent merchandise and programme available also.
Four stars.

William Skinner is excellent! I saw it tonight for the third time and he wasn’t on and I missed him! But he played the phone boy!
It really clicked for me tonight though, I had thought the songs were a bit clunky and maybe a couple are but they’re great really.
I would combine the Grand High Witch’s ranty song with Gran’s one about her childhood. And get better costumes made for the kids in the boxes and the objects at the hotel.
I love Get Up, the staging is awkward with the costumes but I really like them getting on their tiptoes, I think it works being that simple, it just could do with some more exciting lighting, or maybe… well there’s not a lot they can do cos they’re all inanimate, but maybe Luke could be preparing for his next move throughout it, like with schematics of the kitchen!

This little clip of Daniel Rigby just made me laugh.
After reading these posts and other word of mouth I’m starting to regret not booking now! Hope it does have a future life.

I saw this recently - Daniel Rigby was brilliant. The two young leads - really great. Bertie Caplin (Luke) - what a stage name and George Menezes Cutts (Bruno) I think the latter is a star and reminds me so much of Rupert Everett.
Irvine Iqbal playing the chef was hilarious - actually I loved all the ensemble - especially Zoe Birkett!
I thought Act 2 weaker than Act 1. The weird immersive element with the phone going off - bit much. Katherine Kingsley is a riot. And stunningly beautiful. I'm unsure if she used contact lenses for her eyes but so blue. Her costuming in particular, so gorgeous.
Leading on, I really liked the costuming too for everyone - just not the 'Human Again' Beauty and the Beast inspired for the child ensemble. Maybe it's because they have to save money which makes sense but looked a bit cheap.
Would I see it again? No. Am I glad I did? Yes, I am! Much preferred this than HEX.

Went to see this last night. It wasn’t for me. The sound mix was awful, at times I just couldn’t hear the vocals at all. And mics were left on off stage several times, causing extra competing sounds, luckily no one swearing or the like.
I did love the lighting and the costumes and the physical comedy moments. The story just didn’t hang well and while I enjoyed the group numbers, there were too many self indulgent solos that were musically boring.
And a lot rests on the young performers, we had an excellent Bruno who had a massive voice, incredible in one so tiny. And his performance somewhat overshadowed the perfectly competent Luke, and the Helga who sounded unwell and maybe shouldn’t have been on at all. I can imagine a totally different show depending on which young cast are on.

I thought the boys played in pairs, but I didn't see Caplin, I saw Frankie Keita, who was fine.

I really liked this. Every member of the cast was excellent. The children were very excellent. I would pay to see it next year. The programme was good value. Huge cheers at the finish.5* from me.

They would be wise to do a ton of work on it, and then bring it back next Xmas.
Under no circumstances should this transfer to the west end in its current form. Also not that it could- nowhere is big enough for it unless they want to lose all their money and put it in Drury Lane

I think some work needs to be done in the second act, but its very good as is, and i think would be fine in the West End
i suspect the most likely scenario would be it have another run at the national end of the year though, and then transfer Summer/Autumn 2025. Hopefully they can hang on to the cast

Caught this for a second time tonight. This time from the front row “severely restricted bench” as opposed to middle of the circle.
Firstly, severely restricted bench is a total overstatement! It was quite comfy, I just had to move around a little after a while. Great view too. The only thing you slightly miss is the mice running around, but if you perk your head up at those times you can see them. One of the mice even fell over the stage into our seats during the final witches scene lol
Really enjoyed the show, obviously some tweaks needed but nothing that hasn’t already been mentioned here. The kids costumes are notably worse up close. SAT and Katherine are unreal! So great to see them in these roles up close. The show could really benefit from more time with the witches on stage. Very busy tonight still, and the audience seemed to love it. Sincerely hope this has a future after some minor adjustments.
I’ve seen people on here mention that a west end transfer would be difficult because of finding a theatre. Can you explain why? Is it literally just stage size?

Sally Ann Triplett is not continuing with the show after this run.
I think Daniel Rigby is unlikely to return.

I really hope that this will get the second life that people are predicting and if it does it would be a shame to lose the adult leads. Katherine Kingsley has said that she's been working on this show on and off for years, does anyone have any inside info if this is also the case for for Sally Ann Triplett and/or Daniel Rigby?

The Olivier stage is huge. There are only a tiny handful of theatres this could go to in its current form, and that’s not happening. Well… Drury Lane will be free soon - but that would be one enormous risk.
