This is exciting, even though I am seeing it at the Hempstead tomorrow.
I wonder if this means they will also record a cast album, as the original is out of print. I would love to hear it.

I jest, very pleased to see this get a West End transfer and hopefully the reception it deserves. That said if Kushner could just get on with some screenwriting quietly for a bit, and cool down on the revivals my bank balance would thank him

Judging by what’s available through the Hampstead website, pricing for this is a bit ambitious
£62.50 for the back of the stalls, £52.50 for back of dress circle, £32.50 for back of upper circle. Good luck with that!

It’s just a f***ing joke It will be papering within weeks Sunny afternoon Was doing so for the whole Of it’s WE run Although it did well enough There is a balance to be struck between Transferring a show to allow more people to see it And cheapening it My main issue is These limited runs are sold out At Almeida hampstead Etc But the transfers hAve to discount and paper It follows that a transfer is not always a good idea for sold out runs from small venues There is no inbetween compromise medium |

There is no inbetween compromise medium St. Martin's, Criterion, and Duke of York's have capacities between 550 & 650. |

It's hardly a huge leap. Actually that includes the downstairs The main house is 325 It is a massive leap to over 700 In fairness the show sold out the NT run Which is well over 850 seats |

West End productions are priced to factor in being able to discount. How many people on this board will actually pay those prices? We can all assume there will be discounts and if there isn't, then the producers will cash in.

Who would have thought this would get a transfer via a London fringe venue, over Fiddler on the Roof which I think was infinitely much superior.
