I throughly enjoyed the film - not sure if its a guilty pleasure or an underapprecated little gem.
The fact I've voluntarily spoken out on here suggests to me it must be the latter.

I al so quite a fan of the movie and would like to see it but as there are no dates down south probably not. Maybe it will come to the west end as there are no southern dates.

I enjoyed the film but would like to see the stage musical as I understand it's a bit more hard-hitting and has some rougher edges (although I daresay it's possible that a new production could be softened to match the mood of the film).
Don't think it's ever come to Central London though, it has hovered around outer London (think Wimbledon was as close as it got).

I'm expecting Edinburgh Playhouse to sell out completely for this. Given that Edinburgh Playhouse is on the top of Leith Walk.

I'm expecting Edinburgh Playhouse to sell out completely for this. Given that Edinburgh Playhouse is on the top of Leith Walk. It's actually going to the King's in Edinburgh. Perhaps they think the Playhouse might be too big as the show has been performed multiple times by amateur groups in nearly every Scottish town and city during its short release. Having M.D.'d the show I am interested to see what revisions are made.

I'm pleased with this, I hope to see it at the West Yorkshire Playhouse (a venue I also really like). I loved the film, despite knowing nothing about it other than one or two songs beforehand. I've also since seen an amateur production of the stage show which I also enjoyed, so looking forward to it.

I loved the film and I'll certainly be going to see the show in Leeds.

It seems this will be the last production in the Quarry Theatre before the WYP closes for its remodelling. I object to paying a booking fee, but I might just have to pay a final visit.

I'm going to see this at WYP as luckily for me, my week in Yorkshire coincides with the run. Rather disappointed to find that WYP have ceased to give a concession to seniors though others are still available, but at least the rail discount will apply and I can make a day of it, seeing the art gallery, etc.

I do prefer the stage musical over the film although enjoyed both. The original Dundee Rep cast were perfect in the roles and the Scottish audiences loved it. I think the story is strong enough with plenty of humour and emotion to appeal to an English crowd too!

I can make a day of it, seeing the art gallery, etc. If it's your type of thing, there's currently a Thomas Chippendale exhibition in the City Museum. " See original drawings and documents and many examples of his peerless furniture, some of which will be on public display for the first time." There was a longish feature, AKA free publicity, on the local news. It looks like during 500 Miles, audience participation is not only encouraged, but expected. I may have to do a BurlyBeaR!

^ I've made the mistake of booking a seat near the front. (I was originally on row A, which has now been replaced with seats on the stage and bar tables.)

When I booked the tickets I did notice it said that the onstage bar will be open in the interval!

Thank you for the Chippendale suggestion, TallPaul; it is already on my list as I've read several articles about it.

Absolutely loved the song played on the Elaine Paige show just over a month ago, composing of the highest standard, heard it was touring after being developed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Big dissapointment the tour is only going to Scotland and no where near London.
