Will I be thrown off the board if I say that it's 'School of Rock' then 'Joseph'?

Haha, no throwing off the board but all this shows we do need a poll! Be an interesting chat to hear the reasons for people's fave ALW musical too.
Love these sort of things as they focus on the positives :-)

Is ALW writing anything at the moment ? Think he's said recently that he has no new ideas for a show currently, so hes keeping busy with the re-hashing and reworking of older materials like Starlight and WiW.

We don't seem to have discussed it much on the board, but this summer ALW will be coming close to that 6 concurrent shows record when the following 5 are all playing between 2-24 August:
Phantom at Her Majesty's School of Rock at the Gillian Lynne Joseph at the Palladium Evita at Regent's Park Open Air JCS at the Barbican
I wonder if he'll ever match that 6 show feat again? With shows like Aspects and Woman in White getting acclaimed small-scale revivals recently it seems unlikely that we'll see them in West End houses again, but you never know...

Wonder if they could do another workshop of Starlight or something at The Other Palace to match the 6.

And then people complain about Mischief Theatre having too many shows on at once . . .

Love him or hate him that is a remarkable achievement. Will this be a record?

Am gonna be a happy bunny this Summer.... And re another revival, I think the show that hasn't appeared for the longest time is Song and Dance (I guess as Tell me usually done alone now). I'd be up for it :-) #MakeItSix

I saw it once but was very young! Only musical I have never seen is By Jeeves!
I always forget about Requiem - I have also never seen that! Though don't think it's ever performed. In his autobiography he does say he'd like to revisit and revise it so it's not impossible...

I personally think Regents Park should have a go at Cats.

Saw it a couple of times in Scarborough, then numerous times in its various West End venues. Saw the Stephen Fry / Tim Rice performance of The Likes of Us at the Mermaid Theatre. I’ve never been able to get into Requiem, but I’d go if it was ever performed again.

By Jeeves is jolly fun. The Requiem is a curious one - I did see a performance once and got annoyed with my father for singing along with it!

By Jeeves, I remember it all too well. Saw it once, the day before the 10th Phantom anniversary (which I got a free ticket for). What a hoot! I don't recall having laughed so much ever again in a theatre. I sat 3rd row to the side and I still remember the stern looks Malcolm Sinclair gave me...

I personally think Regents Park should have a go at Cats. That would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons.

I personally think Regents Park should have a go at Cats. That would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons. They could do an open air production in my back garden. I'm currently feeding 6 stray cats so that's about a third of the cast sorted already.
