When they asked Richard Griffiths why he'd never played Falstaff, despite repeated offers, he said he didn't want to "because he's a bit of a scumbag isn't he" Richard Griffiths would have been fantastic in the role. But he did play Falstaff. In 1982 for the BBC Shakespeare Merry Wives. |

Why do you still go then? Still go where ? I haven't seen to Stratford for years. Boyd's announced "Revolutions" Russian season was supposed to last four years but fizzled out after 1-2. One that was announced as part of that but not produced was the co-production with a Russian company of a Chekov play. He also announced a Gogol play which as far as I'm aware never happened. Likewise a Shakespeare co-production with a Russian company. He also announced Doran would direct Boris Gudonov but in the end he directed it himself. |

Ravenhill's script for Galileo was decent. Better than others I have read. His attempt at directing was a disaster though. But I blame others for that more than him.
