My emotions have rollercoastered by Baemax today. And mine, after the rather wonderful God in Ruins I was excited about another Anthony Nielson albeit a repeat. Easy mistake though. Every time I search and try and glean anything all I find is Chemistry societies and football fixtures. |

My emotions have rollercoastered by Baemax today. Mine too, after Marty's interventionI thought the Royal College of Surgeons must be putting on a public show like in the old days. The Old Operating Theatre Museum over in Southwark is worth a look if you have 20 minutes to spare, an actual operating theatre from the surgery-as-entertainment days. |

The brief return of King Lear trigerrs the Greg Doran "my production of ..." klaxon in the press release www.rsc.org.uk/press/releases/rsc-announces-2018-summer-seasonGood casting for Macbeth, and love the production image. "The Fantastic Follies of Mrs Rich" sounds interesting although the title of the play would appear to be "The Beau Defeated, or the Lucky Younger Brother" so no idea why they have renamed it? |

Really like the Swan and the Merry Wives and the images are fab.
Looks like we'll get more Swan shows as it finishes a month and a half before the RST season

Great casting for Macbeth, but I wish it was any other director. Still, not a bad sounding season, apart from the return of one of the most blandly boring King Lears I've had the misfortune to see, but that'll be easy enough to avoid. Hope Miss Littlewood is as good as it sounds!

So both NT and RSC are doing GCSE set book Macbeth. Hopeless coordination. This one looks far more appealing after the brilliant Antigone from Ecclestone/Findlay. .
Doran's interesting idea to cross-cast R&J and Troilus and Cressida abandoned.
King Lear touring to USA I assume so they are staging a few paid rehearsals.

Doran's interesting idea to cross-cast R&J and Troilus and Cressida abandoned. This production of Romeo and Juliet will tour in 2019, so it would be possible to cross-cast it with Troilus and Cressida in Stratford then. |

Macbeth casting is enough to make me drag myself to Stratford for the first time in years, I love both of them and I've not seen a Macbeth in years either so the time is right.
Meh to Sher really, I mean it'll be a fine production but not one I'd go out of my way to see. Swan season looks nice though

The Henry VI plays and Richard III have today been confirmed by Gregory Doran to be produced together, at some time in 2019 to 2021 when the RSC's first folio cycle will be completed.
