Saw Sam yesterday evening - having seen Charlie before and knowing how good he was I didn't know what to expect. I left pleasantly surprised - Sam was vocally as strong as Charlie though not as loud - may have been a mic thing though as I was sat in a different place, a bit further back. His dancing didn't quite have the same spring to it that Charlie's has and especially when working with the cane he seemed to be concentrating on it a little bit definitely had most of it down. It's hard to explain though but when seeing Charlie, he was just mesmerising - you couldn't take your eyes off him, he has 'the X factor' for want of a better phrase! Sam didn't have this like Charlie does but was still very impressive in the role, and I enjoyed his interpretation. My sister was not so keen, but I'm sure that's because she has a bit of a crush on Charlie!

Does anyone think it might extend after 2nd September? We are going to London the week after and I will be gutted if I've just missed it. I might have to go on my own to a matinee if not.

It is doing OK business, nothing amazing, but OK. It has been having at least three of four levels open at performances as of late. I think the Summer will be very telling in terms of a future. I personally could see it extending and maybe closing in January? On the other side, if there is something more profitable planning on using the theatre, they could well bump this out. I wouldn't want to see it close just yet.

I really loved this show, and as an American, I can't imagine we will ever see it in NYC. It's a really gorgeous, well-done production. And such a jewel of a theater.

I'll have to keep my eyes peeled in the next couple of months. We live 160 miles away so I have to plan things well in advance, then try and get as many shows in as possible but if it doesn't extend, I might come down on the megabus for the day and squeeze a matinee in. Thanks for your reply.

If it were to extend I can see it going to when "cast change" would have been, but not any further.

If it were to extend I can see it going to when "cast change" would have been, but not any further. Thats exactly what I think will ultimately happen. I think it will go until around the time it opened and close up shop. Because also it is a really challenging show to cast, and Charlie in the lead has really created a name for himself in the theatre scene over the course of a year. Even if it were to close on September 2nd though, where it is currently booking, it is a major achievement as no one thought it would last until Christmas when it opened and here we are, 6 months later!

It's had a fantastic run. Its got great "re-watchability" too...
Will probably try and catch it one more time before it does close.

rumour has it that it may be filmed...not sure whether its for V&A or primetime xmas show haha Well that would be great if Half A Sixpence did a filmed performance with Charlie Stemp and the current London cast from the Noel Coward Theatre in London for Xmas this year on TV on BBC Four and on DVD like Gypsy did in 2015 and I hope there will be an announcement for it soon before the show finishes it's run on Saturday 2nd September

Going to see this soon. What merchandise is there? There is the programme, the souvenir brochure, the poster, the 2016 Live London Cast Recording CD, keyrings and mugs

I just watched the Palladium performance. Fabulously performed but I didn't like that acid yellow. Very jarring on the eye!

I really enjoyed watching the cast of Half A Sixpence performing Pick Out A Simple Tune by Stiles and Drewe on Tonight At The London Palladium on ITV last week and they wrote it brilliantly for the show rumour has it that it may be filmed...not sure whether its for primetime xmas show

I assume something is coming in the Autumn but almost a year in the West End is not to be sniffed at. I'm sure Cameron Mackintosh will tour it.

Sad to see it go, but hardly surprising, and as others have said it's had a respectable run. Now I just need to see how long it takes me to give in and book for the last show!
