I wouldn’t not go see someone perform just because they support Trump. Do I like and support Trump? No. But if someone performing in front of me does then I couldn’t give two hoots. It’s not like he’s going to use this to express his political views. I’ve booked for the 22nd November and very much looking forward to it
In normal times I would agree with you but the Trump thing is so virulent and evil that I cannot appreciate the work of anyone who subscribes to it. I'm probably affected by the fact that I'm in the US at the moment and immersed in the anger and revulsion that is the mood of the day here.
If we screened every artist we were ever going to see for political purity, we'd live in a much shrunken world, and never learn too much. Haven't felt particularly whelmed by Big Fish, but that's just me - Saw John Mahoney in Romance at the Almeida in 2005, going pretty much just for the name, and remember precious little of it today. I get the feeling Big Fish would be similar if I made the trip. If Mr. Grammer were in a show I had a real itch to see, his political leanings wouldn't matter a shred to me. That said, I don't feel any great urge to put any money in his pocket. Read his autobiography many years ago, and he's really rather priggish. I suspect he had to actually rein his natural pomposity to play Frasier.

I loathe the Trump-thing, but I don't have to admire Grammer's politics in order to see him in a play. I knew he supported Trump; there's a short, very select list of people whose public utterances I find so revolting that I'm not prepared to pay to see their work, but Grammer is not on it.

Look - I even dislike Kelsey for what he did to his wife Camille (who was a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills) but it is always fun to see someone from tv on stage and I also am interested in seeing the show itself.
I don't have to like someones politics to like their performance and some actors may be nasty and rude if you talk to them, but you don't. You sit in a dark theater and watch them perform. And for 2+ hours, we are all equals.

Quick question regarding the tickets for this - I booked using my iPhone when I was out of the country, selecting print at home, but there isn't a link (or PDF) on the confirmation email, and I can't see anywhere on The Other Palace website for me to log in and print off. Will I get a ticket emailed to me at a later date closer to the plays start date, or is there somewhere on the TOP website that I've missed out on?

Now showing as sold out on the Other Palace website Must have been a temporary fault - loads on sale right now. It doesn't help, I think, that they use the "traffic light" system to indicate availability, but then the Book button is Red in every case.

is there somewhere on the TOP website that I've missed out Choose any show, click book, and book again to get to a seating plan. At the top of the page a "log in" button appears." Use that to log in. Once in, your name is in the top right corner, click it for a drop down. The second option is "tickets." Click that, and you get a list of your bookings. Click the box beside the "Big Fish" reservation, and the word "reprint" will light up in green to the right above the list of bookings. Cheers, logged in but all it is showing in my purchase history is pre-registration for the ALW Hamilton talk that took place a few months back (and which I didn't even get tickets to see) no sign of the other productions I've seen there - I'll wait until closer to the date and phone the theatre.

The Other Palace website is freaking terrible. Why do these venues not do any user testing before putting them live?

Not sure if it's any consolation to anyone here, but I went onto the website about five hours ago and could easily book tickets for the performance I wanted. Lots of dates still "green" so lots of availability, even the cheap-ish £35 seats, so definitely not sold out.

And, interestingly, row B now has a warning that "seats further forward may be added". I don't know if I want row B to stay the front row or not (no way of knowing if it's a yay or a nay until the staging is finalised) but it's worth keeping an eye on if you favour sitting at the front but availability for your ideal performance is looking a bit sparse.

If it isn't in your history, have you actually had an emailed confirmation? If not, I would contact them ASAP in case the booking is lost. Yes, I had a confirmation, I think trying to sort this out on my phone didn't help, have contacted the theatre and am now in possession of the ticket.

What a relief. I haven't been able to sleep for three days and nights with the worry.

What a relief. I haven't been able to sleep for three days and nights with the worry. A relief to me too, I haven't been able to relax since I made my post, knowing that someone could be making a smart-arsed, unfunny post in reply at any moment. Well done sir/madame - take a bow!

I will be in London in Nov. and Dec., so I am booking seats as they come up at a reasonable price.I grabbed the 30 Nov. matinee at £ 35. The venue is perfect and one of my favorites.

Ihave to add that I saw this musical in New York and was very impressed. There are shows that don't succeed, but I hope this time around thongs turn out better for Big Fish.

Just booked for for, the website is really clunky it took ages. Managed to get seats on the day so wanted but a lot more tickets have gone compared to when I last checked. Dont really know anything about the show so looking forward to it. I've not been to the theatre since it changed to the Other Palace either.

Prices seem to have gone up. 39.50 for cheapest seats for the variety of dates I can do. Strange color system too doesn't seem to correlate to what is actually left (lots in most cases). No wonder so many seats available. Shame as I was quite keen to see this but based on the mixed reviews think I will have to leave it unless offers appear.

I wouldn't be too hasty in making decisions about whether to see this based on reviews of the broadway production - this is a much smaller theatre so will be staged very differently, and there is a whole new character in this version so it is likely to be quite different in terms of book and staging (although the music may not change a lot).
Personally I'm waiting to see if Day Seats/Rush Tickets are announced - I'd love to see it but don't really want to pay upwards of £30 for the cheap seats since I'm on a student budget!

I try to keep my theatre ticket purchases to less than £30 so I can see as much as I can, my sisters definitely won't pay more than that so will be taking the same approach as you I think. I do want to see Sophie Linder Lee back on stage again and Jamie Muscato too. Bring back the £5 front row seats! Or at least the £15 row C I paid for Miss Atomic Bomb/ £22 for the back row of The Wild Party.

They have released some cheaper seats near the front of the stage, especially useful if you want the cheaper preview tickets!

Excellent, I'm always wary of the front row at this theatre so I'm delighted to see there'll be a row in front of me after all.

Rehearsal images. People practising lines. Wearing all manner of headgear. Oh Nigel Harman. Lovely looking fella. Needs a haircut. Check Your Grammer

I do like the soundtrack for this, more than tempted to go late November if I can afford a LDN trip.
