It is a booking fee. Just tried to buy something as a test, and the "face value" if bought through the theatre direct is £41. The £6.60 is indeed an agency booking fee added on. It is clear on the confirmation screen once you have chosen your seat price and number of tickets, and they give you your seat numbers. Ah ok...tbh i didnt see any of that! Plus doing it on my phone makes things v small...You live and learn...😊 |

This is almost exciting enough to make me end my boycott of the St James Theatre due to legroom issues. Almost, but not quite.

YES! How I am going to squish this in is anyone's guess, but I've been curious about this show for so long. Somehow I have a sense that Broadway shows either transfer quickly as big West End productions or they take some years to transfer and then appear in much smaller houses. It's strange. For example I thought that "Once" (and years ago Spring Awakening) would have done much much better in a small intimate setting (such as indeed the Other Palace) whereas "Big Fish" is one that should be done on a bigger scale.
You're right that Big Fish was conceived and produced as a Big Broadway Show. It was one production number after the other. I'm not sure about its prospects in a more intimate setting - it really doesn't have enough quality in its book or its score.

Long time lurker and first time poster here! Just thought I'd chime in because I actually played in the band for a production of the 12 chairs (12 actor) version of this show earlier this year at a small 110 seat theatre here in Sydney which was very well received. That version, from what I understand, stripped quite a lot back to focus more on the family story, so if this version coming to London is similar to that the intimacy could actually really work in its favour. |

Well that's the smoothest booking all month. My password didn't need resetting, there was no queue, just straight in and out. Delighted but wary to see that row B also has the "cheapest" tickets, I will *definitely* need a legroom update from anyone who's going in November.  |

Well these are getting snapped up very fast! Every seat I clicked on came up 'seat not available' even though it was clearly available on the plan, so was like playing cat and mouse trying to click on a seat before someone else, but at least it was a smooth experience. Ended up with row C for the last preview

There's good availability for midweek shows in December. How much of an issue is the legroom in Row B? Are we talking budget flight levels here?

It's a bad theatre for legroom. If row B is the front row, we may get lucky (like for La Strada, there was loads!), but if you're prepared to have your knees around your ears, then the worst case scenario is that at least you're ready for it.

That was very painless, row B seats secured for the 2nd preview. Glad I didn't book the Love Theatre priority, good on The Other Palace for having No Booking Fees.

Indeed; took the advice above and got end seats of row C. Absolutely painless and very happy that buying from the source meant I didn't have to pay the £6+ booking fees both ATG and LoveTheatre were charging!

Expected it to be a horrific booking experience because I'm currently on a coach, on my phone, with questionable internet access.
However I got row B for the Saturday preview, even with a password change required meaning I had to shut my internet page down, but thankfully tickets remained in my basket.
Phew.

Well it *would* have been smooth if I were capable of reading the time... accidentally booked a matinee instead of the evening, but that's all sorted now. And, as others have said, other than my own idiocy, smooth and pain-free!

Friend has booked me a ticket for last preview.
Ive only maade it through the film once as I was a complete emotional wreck (lost my father to cancer as a teenager). Have warned my friend I may have a little break down... not in a bad way but the emotional power of the story is quite something.

Well the pain is when the theatre first opened I went to everything on a comp, then I paid the odd 20 quid here and there and now I've splashed out 32 squid / squid 🐙

One of the few theatres I pay more just to get legroom. Odd that G1 to 4 weren't on sale - must be out to an agent or house holds. For those going at Christmas, prices go up from £51.50 / £41 / £32 to £58 / £45 / £35 from 16th December onwards. Seats are very like the first 3 rows of the National's Lytterton. Ideal seating if you are slight, as the rake is perfect for you. |

I don't get any of the criticism of the seating at The Other Palace to be honest. I've always found it perfectly comfortable and with great views and no legroom problems (and I've got quite long, gangly legs). I really like the theatre, it's one of my favourites I think.
