Looking at the ATG website for an array of dates, rows AA and BB appear to exist but aren't on sale. I'm a little suspicious of this, as I'm sure ATG take seats off the seating plan all together if the seats in question don't exist, but it feels a little late in the day to suddenly decide to have two rows of dayseats. Also it's a bit weird that row AA is full length on the ATG site and the email from the box office specifies that there will "no longer be a 5-seat row AA", which feels more specific than just "no longer be a row AA". I don't suppose anyone's booked in for this weekend who'll be able to let us know? I'll be a bit annoyed if I suddenly have two rows in front of me that weren't there when I booked as there's no rake that far forward, but I suppose I can't complain too much considering what I paid. Still, I would like to know ASAP what the final word is. (Or maybe I'll just email them back now and see if I can get an answer straight from the horse's mouth...)

Not had an email from them yet, though, about my own seat either. Your seat's fine. Could do with a bit of toning and it wouldn't hurt to wiggle it a bit more, but otherwise nothing to worry about.

TM, do you not have your own special red phone that connects you instantly to any box office in the capital? I was hoping you'd be able to offer expert insider knowledge on this one! Don't say that the Monkey is a mere mortal after all!

I asked when I rang them earlier and they confirmed Row A is now front row, with neither AA or BB on sale (though as you say TM and others, both show 'greyed out' on the plan).

Latest looking at the ATG website is that they have put circles into the grey AA and BB rows - so could be seats there after all... I'll be mighty peed off with them if that's the case

But the point remains that I (and others here) had a front row seat on AA, which they moved me from because "there will no longer be a 5-seat row AA". If in face they have changed it to a 12 seat row and evicted the 5 people who had already secured seats there so they can re-sell the same seats to others, I shall be displeased!

Box Office finally answered my email after I also asked on twitter
"The Row A is the third row but will be the first row of normal theatre seating. The seating start with 2 rows of bench seats that will be really close to the stage. Those seats will only be available on the day via Today Tix. There is then an aisle behind row BB followed by row A which will be the first row of normal theatre seating with extra legroom. The stage has been raised so customers in row A should not be obstructed by customers in rows AA and BB."

Thanks RedRose - that's completely different to what they told me yesterday but makes much more sense in context of the seating plan changes. Not impressed with their handling of it - a distinct lack of transparency in their emails to displaced front row ticket holders - but at least it sounds as though the view from A should be OK.

TodayTix already has some of the AA/BB tickets on sale across select dates. They are £15, so just check the dates which show prices "from £15" - unless there's a mistake, doesn't seem like they will only be available on the day!

Something just occurred to me: Were those moved from AA to A folk who paid more than £15 for a seat? I only paid £15, the matinee price, but otherwise they were £35 when originally put on sale, I think. I wonder if they are only moving those who paid more? You might be on to something there - I paid £35 as couldn't make the matinee. ETA: Sorry - just saw Baemax's response - you're clearly clutching at straws ;-)

Another thought, do you have the actual ticket yet? They posted mine to me the day I did the booking. Ditto... replacement is being left for Box Office collection.

As I don't live in the UK I usually have to pick up the ticket at the box Office.

They sent me the replacement ticket a couple of weeks ago....I was very confused as it arrived with no explanation and I went on the plan then and all the AA BB were greyed out...so I just kept both tickets! I paid £35 as front rows not cheap on the day I booked...bit miffed as would probably have preferred a £15 bench seat to save money! What a shambles!

Would seem reasonable to ask them to move you back to the seat you previously booked!

More worryingly- what the hell is going on with Channings face? Nearly screamed when I saw the poster on the tube.

Would seem reasonable to ask them to move you back to the seat you previously booked! I asked for a refund in the end. I wanted a front row seat, as I like front row seats, but didn't like the sound of bench seating.....and I didn't want 2 rows in front of me. They have obliged. I am getting less tolerant the older I get!

I think they need to issue an apologia for this mess. Well, according to this little videoette from 2 of the stars it's pronounced A-pul-OH-ja. twitter.com/BBCNorthPR

Thanks TM, and to your kind friend who went well above and beyond, etc. The result of her test is indeed reassuring
