Does Matt Cardle even have that big of a fan base? When he did West End Live last year some of his fans started queuing at two o'clock in the morning!

Does Matt Cardle even have that big of a fan base? When he did West End Live last year some of his fans started queuing at two o'clock in the morning! Anyone that does well in X Factor automatically seems to garner a rabid, cultish fanbase - however small. It's the Saturday night ITV thing.

Really didn't think this would be his kind of role. I look at something like Charlie in Kinky Boots and think that's far more up his street. Surprising casting. Surely Matt Cardle isn't camp enough? I know it's called acting but that is a STRETCH Matt Cardle is pretty cheesy though so the part probably suits him in a way.

He's not camp but he is silly and playful so I think he can pull it off. I couldn't imagine him in Memphis and he was amazing in that so I have faith! Also, watch what you're saying about his fans, there may be one in your midst

If he has a good time, I am sure he will extend. This just gives him an "out" as it were if he hates it.

Today Tix have a 24 hour sale of tickets for £15 for performances until 10th August for those wanting to catch Will Young before he leaves or Matt Cardle when he arrives. Seem to be rear stalls/dress circle.

Seem to be rear stalls/dress circle. thanks for this! Just grabbed some back stalls for Wills last week - i'm not expecting much from this, but i'm intrigued to see it regardless....

Some seating plans show different row numbers, Today Tix has the front row as A but others show it as CC?

Has anyone Day Seated on a Saturday for this recently? I'm coming down this weekend, seeing Heather's on the Sunday, and Fun Home Saturday matinee, and we're considering seeing Strictly Ballroom, just trying to decide the best way to get tickets. Thoughts anyone? Happy to hear suggestions, whether it's Day Seats, TKTs Booth, TodayTix's or just the theatre themselves ☺️

I got Todaytix rush tickets for last night's show and Will Young's final performance. I haven't seen the show before and actually quite enjoyed it even though I'm not a particular fan of Will Young. It did seem like the entire Will Young fan club was in the audience but it did make for a good atmosphere. I was surprised to see a lot of empty stalls seats though on a Saturday night so I don't know if this bodes well for the show's future. I thought Zizi Strallen and Jonny Labey were excellent in their roles but I was disappointed not to hear them sing more as their voices were beautiful. It did seem like Will was shoe horned into his role and I found his terrible Aussie accent quite distracting at times but overall he gave a good performance. My particular favourite scenes were Dancing by Myself, Time after Time and and the Paso Doble with Fran's Dad (wonderful). Will did a lap of the stalls at the end of the show and I don't know if he usually does this but his super fans were super excited when he did this and a lady sitting behind me at the end of a row seemed like she was about to have some sort of melt down when he touched her! Zizzi and Jonny presented him with a bunch of flowers to say goodbye but he didn't give a speech. I think I enjoyed watching the audience reactions as much as the show.

In direct contrast, we spent last night watching Gareth Gates be the turn at the Devon holiday park we’re staying at. He appeared to enjoy himself, taking selfies with people from the stage and high-fiving all and sundry. He’s a bit old for Marius now but might make a good Fiyero.

Zizzi and Jonny presented him with a bunch of flowers to say goodbye but he didn't give a speech. I think I enjoyed watching the audience reactions as much as the show. Agree that . Saw the Saturday mat, which got a very strong positive reception. Its got some good turns, comedy, a story with message, and some impressive dancing. Its also got an excellent Zizi Strallen who is one of the few top female performers actually visible at the moment , and shows what an excellent triple threat can do.
Its an odd show tho. In this incarnation its a musical with one singer for almost everything. You have a top female singer, some seemingly good singers elsewhere, and at least a passable male lead singer - which would give it variety, but, instead, you get the sameness of one vocal popping up, from some character, who doesn't belong to the story. If you have good , or , in this case, much better singers, let them sing . If they can't sing it all, and dance at the same time spread the vocals around. It also seems to suffer from the running out of time , lets end it now musical phenomena . it should be building, like any good Strictly, to the massive winning, 40 scoring , dance - but that gets a bit lost in the events going on around he floor, just as Zizi gets dressed in longer and longer dresses.
