Happy to meet up (+ Marchioness Snow), but will need to eat first!
Does someone who knows RFH (or environs) want to suggest a place?

Just had an e mail from RFH to say that Ben Forster has pulled out and being replaced by Damian Humbley. That's a great bit of news as I love Damian so more than happy with the change.

I was quite happy with the email too! Same here. I was thinking about not going, as with the exception of Julian Ovenden I wasn't very interested in the original line-up, but now I'll definitely be going. I've been a big fan of Damian Humbley since first seeing him in Lend Me A Tenor in 2011. ETA: sitting stalls A28 should anyone want to say hello.

I’m rear stalls RR-29 should anyone be in the area. I’ll probably head to Wagamama to grab some food beforehand.

Very sadly its now (almost) impossible for us to be there and only if things change I might be able to attend on my own (will know by lunchtime), leaving at least one free.
Unfortunately, tickets are with me in Essex. So unless I can travel does anyone know if the Southbank Centre are helpful if I were to scan copies of the tickets and forward?
If anyone is interested in attending please IM me. Don’t want the tickets wasted and would be happy to know a board member is attending in our place.
Box on Blue side.

I believe they will only issue credit notes if tickets are returned 24 hours in advance, and the show is not sold out so they probably wouldn’t accept them as returns for resale May be worth calling them

The cast is so so good that I regret having booked a seat in WW back in November, I wish I were closer. I hope it will be Rebecca Trehearn to sing Send in the Clowns

Well I have got to the hotel, showered and now I’m in the bar waiting for my husband to get here !
The way this wine is going down, sondheim has always encouraged audience participation right?!

Oh what a bunch of wallflowers! I still don’t know if I can make this, but if I do I’d love to meet some of you. I will be standing alone (probably all night!) as near to where the photo below was taken, from 6.45 and in the interval. Drinking G&T’s in Ryan’s honour. I answer to the name Tony and will have a blue Theatre board badge on the right lapel of my Blue Suit. Yes I’m tallest and baldest one there! Central Bar near left side. www.southbankcentre.co.uk/visit/cafes-restaurants-bars/central-barIt should be a wonderful evening, it would be great to put a few faces to the names.

I hope it will be Rebecca Trehearn to sing Send in the Clowns I'd expect it to be either Liz Calloway or Claire Moore. Rebecca Trehearn is a bit young for Desiree I would think. However given the programme has a song list but no indication if who is singing what, we'll have to wait in suspense till Act 2.

The problem with a show like this is that most of the songs have been sung by extraordinary performers in unforgettable renditions: with a repertory like this is impossible not to make comparisons. It's also a pity that many songs have been re-arranged into quartets or sextets, especially because harmonies were not this cast's strongest asset. All tonight's performances were nice, but they were more pleasant than memorable. The exceptions were Damian Humbley's fantastic Franklin Shepard Inc., Rebecca Trehearn's I Read, The Gun Son, and Liz Callaway and Humbley's Beautiful.

I thought tonight was very good. Some bits were better than others though. There were some obvious issues with projections and sound in the first half but both seemed much better in the second half. Highlights for me were Rebecca Trehearn singing I Read from Passion, Claire Moore reprising her performance as Sally, singing In Buddys Eyes, though her higher range doesnt seem to be what it was) but the real highlight for me was Tyrone Huntley delivering a fasntastic Being Alive. I was actually quite emotional during it. For me it seemed like the balance of the orchestra and vocals were spot on and the audience were still and rapt with attention. Liz Callaway was fantastic throughout. I'm not a huge fan of Julien Ovenden's voice. He was great in Finishing The Hat but is definitely not suited to sweeney. Damian Humbley has a gorgeous voice and i wish he had more chances to shine in big numbers, rather than the lighter numbers from Merrily, though he was great in them. Thank you Ben Forster for dropping out A great night overall delivered by a fantastically talented cast.

Really enjoyed it, but vocals were mixed way too low, especially for the first half of Act One.

I must have been sat in an acoustic sweet spot - it sounded fabulous to me! No problems with the sound mix at all. (Not that I’m the most discerning listener.)
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I think it helped that I hadn’t bought a programme and seen the set-list, so each new piece of music was a lovely surprise.
Lovely to meet Mr Snow/Tony for a chat too!
