If West End found a place for Viva Forever!, then why can't Broadway handle Britney? It's a musical with her songs tho.

How lovely.
And just to be true to the source material I demand they cast a lead actress who can't sing the songs either.

Hmmm... My fondness for American Idiot and We Will Rock You is telling me that I shouldn't judge this before I know more, but hers is not a back catalogue which I'd personally mine for jukebox musical material.
This reminds we actually, when I was 12 I wrote the book for a pretty great (if I do say so myself) Avril Lavigne jukebox musical. I wish I still had it tbh! 😂

I wouldn't mind a show that centres around Britney's Blackout album, that was definitely her creative peak. (Or her songwriters).

A lot of Brit's back catalogue is centred around promiscuity and basically, low morals. I'm not sure how well her material will translate into a woven story where an audience cares about the character singing "Oops, I did it again... I played with your heart..." etc "One, two, three, Peter, Paul & Mary... I'm caught in between..." and so on.

Modern musicals tend to look for more from their storylines than vapid loose morals and characters singing "I'm a slave for you..." at one another.

Fun Home has a lesbian hero. Billy Elliott has a homosexual kiss between children. I mean if gonna be moralistic about women sleeping around might as well chuck in homosexuality as well, that's a bloody SIN!

Wow. Remind me never to have an opinion again 🤐 Oh no it's fine to have your opinions don't worry. I was just proving them wrong You've completely chosen to come for me, which I really don't understand why. I'm not trying to bad mouth Britney - I love her music, but it doesn't instantly tell a story to me outside of loving sex and not giving a f***. I'm not saying it won't work, I'm only suggesting that it will be interesting to see how they write it. Now, leave... Britney... alone... 😩

U just said audiences wouldn't be interested in a story with her 'morals' Andi was pointing out very successful musicals that also have 'questionable morals' but that an audience loves. Sorry if u think I'm attacking you, I'm not
