The soundtrack is definitely in the order they come in the film.Super Trooper is the credits, which is the whole cast singing and having fun, The day before you came is over the film crew credits.

Am enjoying this but my God it sounds synthetic - auto tuned to within an inch of it's life. Almost sounds as if being sung by robots.
Good to hear Angel Eyes and Fernando though. And love Why Did It Have To Be Me? Which I wasn't previously aware of....

Downloaded the Cher songs. Fernando is great. LOVE the intro to Super Trouper. It’s a shame that it doesn’t sound like she’s saying Tesco though. Oh dear Meryl’s singing now.

I was looking forward to this - and still am up to a point - but it's beginning to feel exclusive in that I'm clueless about some of the above comments. At this rate we will need a "Cinema Amnesty Thread" to match the theatrical one.
Could someone please explain (politely) why on earth there have been references to Tesco, and what the dickens auto-tune is and how a normal listener would recognise it? Thank you.

An often misheard lyric in 'Super Trouper' is "when I called you last night from Tesco" instead of "Glasgow".
Auto-tune is basically an audio program that can correct a singer's flaws and make them sound 'pitch perfect'. Used in a certain way it can sound very artificial.

And I always assumed it was 'And I'm not ashamed to say the sound of Bronson cannons made me cry' - never found out what a Bronson was, but it seemed a well researched reference. Wrong.

No-one has ever been able to sing the songs like them (I'd go so far as to say Agnetha and Frida are two of the greatest female singers ever) and every cover version just proves how deceptively hard those songs are.

As much as I love the stuff from about ‘Voulez Vous’ onwards, there are some absolute classics on the early albums, such as this and ‘I’ve been waiting for you’. Fantastic melody coupled with intelligent emotive lyrics. Why wouldn’t you want to learn from this as a songwriter? |

Also love that in 'Fernando' Cher keeps the oh-so-Swedish lyric "since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your hand" which is one of my very favourite ABBA lyrics.
