... I'm sorry, but that performance of Rhythm of Life by the students was awful, the sound was terrible, you couldn't understand a word they were saying! Great orchestrations though!

Just a thought theatre, with this being a public forum, is it worth taking down the link and DM-ing it to people on request? I don't know how radio copyright works, but I wouldn't want you to run into any issues  That said, thank you so much for sharing with us all! |

I still don't understand how Trevor wasn't nominated for the Olivier when Ben Hunter and Andrew Langtree got in (whilst I liked Girls and LOVED Groundhog!) Because he was petitioned as Best Actor, not Best Supporting. |

Is anybody going tonight? I went last year and it was one of my theatrical highlights of the year. Sadly can't make it this time as I'm not living in London anymore.
Hosts Ruthie Henshall and John Owen Jones will be joined by leading cast members from shows including Phantom of the Opera, Cilla The Musical, School of Rock, Motown The Musical, Wicked, Bat Out of Hell, the stunning King and I, Little Shop of Horrors and a special performance of This Is Me from the smash hit movie musical The Greatest Showman
Magic Radio has also announced that Company, Dreamgirls, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, MAMMA MIA! The Musical, Chicago, Disney’s The Lion King & Disney’s Aladdin will all take part, as well as performances from West End giants Louise Dearman & Laura Tebutt.

Lots of complaints on twitter about the sound.
I was there last year for this and it was rubbish then. What is the issue with this venue? Such a shame sounds like a great line up

It was the same (famously) for the Chess concert. And yet the 25th Anniversary concerts for Phantom sounded absolutely glorious, so it can be done. |

The sound was so bad I moved seats tonight.
The highlights were -
Louise Dearman (singing Memory, Everything’s Coming Up Roses and Wizard and I)
Listen from Dreamgirls
Cilla the musical (said it’s going to West End?)
He’s my Boy from Jamie (Josie Walker)
Last year’s show was better.

Unlike the pesky BBC iPlayer this radio station let me listen from abroad through my VPN.
Nice enough concert even without the visuals, though nothing really special.

Bugger it, I missed it. ☹️Trying to see if it is being replayed You'll probably be able to catch it online soon, I'm pretty sure they said you'd be able to listen again that way! Thoroughly enjoyable 2 and a half hours, after what I thought was a dubious beginning with extremely sub-standard performances from Little Shop of Horrors and School of Rock. Louise Dearman really smashed her 3 songs, Ruthie did a bloody brilliant When You're Good to Mama and JOJ was awesome doing Superstar!! Josie Walker also another real stand-out. |
