Does anyone know if this new theatre has actually been built yet? The Manchester based booking clerk was very enthusiastic about it tho' obviously had no idea what it was actually like. Said lots of leg room! Lesson learnt from the Wanamaker? Anyway, I've booked for this new play by Mr Bean despite misgivings about his often hastily penned efforts. Can't resist our Rory whose casting will bring in the regulars I expect. And anyone know about the play? Nice looking programme I think for the Bridge.

There's a bit that people have posted in the general thread under Bridge theatre if you haven't already seen it Lynette. I agree, sound choice to book Mr Kinnear, it's got me going along already.

I wonder if the title is a response to Young Chekhov at the Nicks' old gaff?

I was in the area a few weeks ago so went to have a quick look; the building itself (One Tower Bridge) looks pretty much finished and ready to be occupied (though presumably most of the apartments are being bought as an investment by people who will never actually set foot in them). The theatre itself is being advertised but it's still behind boards - you can't peek in to see what it might look like. I assume it's now being kitted out.

I'm not sure I can take Rory Kinnear that seriously with all that hair.

The Almeida apparently is not to be outdone. It has lined up over 60 actors to read Das Kapital in its entirety and for it to be livestreamed.

Presumably as part of the centenary commemorations of the 1917 Russian Revolutions? I read your post last night and woke up thinking about it but with a slight nagging fear that you might have made it up.

The poster of this confuses me.
Is this a new play or is Rory Kinnear just auditioning for La Strada?

They have a LOT of tickets to sell, though, don't they... They have a lot on sale. They don't have to sell them all. Nick Hytner said in the weekend press that the theatre is targeted at London residents and that there will be about 100,000 tickets available per show. So I calculate that fewer than 1% of those residents attending each show would fill every seat.

Now I choose to think that it was just that I'd read Honoured guest's comment so late that my brain immediately went and refused to compute it's meaning. Not sure what my excuse is now.

Nancy Carroll added to cast. 😄 I may have let out an involuntary squeal at that news, remembering the lovely Latecomer got me a front row seat

Latecomer you clearly go to too much Nancy Carol theatre without me. Watched Quacks I think it's called, not entirely convinced by it but it gives you time to get used to see Rory Kinnear with lots of hair in preparation for Young Marx.

Has anyone seen anything about the running time? The Bridge Theatre's website says the length is "to be confirmed", so I'm wondering where the movie theater in my New York neighborhood where the NT Live screening will be shown (in January, so not actually live) got the idea that the "expected run time" is 220 minutes.
