It's hilarious that I'm only finding out about this on here, because I didn't get the email!
All those benefits make my decision very clear - I've cancelled my direct debit. To be honest I only used the card to waive the obscene booking fee. At those prices, I'd have to see about twelve ATG shows a year.
How to ruin your business in one fell swoop!
Also, piss poor and underhanded - my normal DD was taken last month, I'd have cancelled it before if I knew this was coming. Garbage company.
Very entertaining watching the bedlam unfold on their Facebook page, some saying the DD stays at £35, others told different on the phone. Everything you shouldn't do as a company, ATG have done.

Just cancelled my membership. I wasn't aware of this until I got an email earlier today. I'd been thinking about cancelling anyway as I've hardly used it this year so that was the final push.

I cancelled my card in Jan cos I was barely using it - fast forward a few months and it officially ran out and I ended up using a lot more than I have done in the last year so I took out a membership again. I'm still waiting for my card to arrive (had the letter to confirm the direct debit being set up) but now they've announced this new ATG+ thing I have no idea if they are still going to send me one or not.

Mine ran out over the pandemic and when the extension had ceased I've not renewed it and I'm unlikely to do so as I'm much more selective about what I see at theatres than I was a few years ago.

With the ATG card now do you just save the £3.80 processing fee or do you actually get a couple of quid off each ticket? I remember when I had one years ago the tickets were always slightly cheaper when I logged in. Also what’s with the £50 and £75 prices? What is ticket protection exactly! I know I should look this up on their website but it’s so confusing on there figured someone here would know!

You might get a fiver off. Possibly more on opening nights. There’s an occasional bargain if something is bombing on sales. It’s nowhere near as good as it was pre covid though.

I know I should look this up on their website but it’s so confusing on there figured someone here would know! Save booking fees generally across the board then random offers but not on everything plus presales sometimes useful if wanting a specifuc date/seat. Still worth it for me I think buying mostly regionally in Manchester. I've saved on Annie opening night adult tickets, got half price for Sister Act. But I agree its not as good at offers as it was. I don't pay the additional for ticket protection, just the basic. I believe if you already have membership it stays at the original price next renewal.

But as someone else has said above, I'm not clear on what other advantage the £75 membership brings. Might be worth it for automatic refunds if you can't make it for any reason but is that what they're actually offering for £75?

Just seen this on the ATG website. Some good news for renewing members like myself who are on the DD payment option -
If you joined ATG TheatreCard before 9 Aug 2023 and pay via Direct Debit, then the price for ATG+ is fixed at £35 on your next renewal date (or the initial TheatreCard Plus price of £59).
Our members are very important to us, and to thank you for your loyalty, we are honouring the £35 or £59 annual price for the next 12 months for those on Direct Debit. This means that renewals at £35 annually (and the initial TheatreCard Plus price of £59) will take place until 8 Aug 2024 - allowing the majority to enjoy the benefits of these prices into 2025.

Some good news, then, as I should qualify for the £35 renewal, having only rejoined earlier this year after cancelling when there was nothing to see for so long. However, although ATG have announced their sneaky price increase (not disguised as an improvement in member benefits) by email, legally they're still obliged to contact members before collecting a direct debit if the price is rising, so I shall wait to hear from them in due course and possibly cancel then.

I used to have the TheatreCard+ which had the ticket protection, I tried to claim for missing a show as I had Covid, but I couldn't submit the claim as I didn't have a lateral flow test result produced by a lab and at this point all the testing centres had closed down. I have heard of a few people struggling to submit claims or get them accepted.

I'm with you on that. The mystery of the missing emails has been revealed. GDPR problem. Turns out they screwed up when people joined and either didn’t ask for people’s permission to email them, or did ask but didn’t properly record the permission. So now every individual member has to contact them so that permission to send offers by email is given and recorded, then they can activate things. That’s according to Facebook anyway, could be a load of cobblers but it would explain why they can’t just activate everyone.

Doesn’t the website ask if you want to receive emails every time you book? I’ve given permission this way every time but it hasn’t made a difference.

Never had any ATG emails about specific offers on shows for members, but I get general marketing about new shows from them. Am I missing out?
I'm a little bit miffed to learn today that Uncle Vanya tonight in Richmond is running without interval.
If they'd made that clear upfront, I wouldn't have bothered treating us to the Ambassador Lounge. I can't even have the included drink beforehand if I'm expected to go nearly two hours without a toilet break.

What is the deal with ATG? They seem to have so many regional shows that don’t get close to selling out yet I never see any offers/discounts in the same way I do for West End shows.
Are the discounts only offered to card members? (I’m not)
Do they drop prices on the day for unsold seats? I can’t see any evidence of that happening.
Curious to know if I’m missing out on good deals or not.

They often put offers on undersold shows, but they spectacularly fail to advertise most of them, at least to me. I often only find out via these forums or by selecting a seat and discovering a discount promotion price is available to me. And yes, that would be for a show I was otherwise prepared to purchase at regular price. There are probably loads of other shows I skipped that had offers that could have enticed me had I been aware.
As a general rule, outside of special promotions when a show is not selling, ATG+ members on touring productions tend to get £10 off first night and £5 off Mon-Thu otherwise, with occasional 2-for-1 on opening night, but the latter have become rare.

Very thankful this thread exists as I never would have found their number online. By the time I got through all the recorded spiel about the exceptional number of calls they’re receiving and how I may be on hold for over half an hour my call went straight through.
I don’t have much nice to say about ATG, but the lady I spoke to swapped my ticket no problem and the whole call only lasted three minutes. Great stuff.
