Just had my ATG Card renewal come through, and they still haven't fixed the offer text:
"Save 25% at the bar up to 30 minutes before the show starts"
When they first introduced this restriction, I contacted them because I genuinely did not know what they meant. Up to 30 minutes before is anything between 0 and 29:59 minutes before, and, while that was possibly what they intended -- i.e. you can't sit in our bar all day drinking cheaply -- I thought it more likely they meant the opposite of what they said, and they did.
What they mean to say is "Save 25% at the bar until 30 minutes before the show starts".
Is it really so hard to be clear with the English language?

I don’t know how long it’s been like this but the “Manage My Account” page appears to have had a redesign and compared to the previous version, I have to say that I’m impressed with the new one. Having to use the old format was a pain in trying to locate ticket orders based on your order number alone. Now you can see individual shows (with artwork) listed and click on each show brings up all the info for that show. ( seat no, order number etc). For me it’s a lot more user friendly to get at the info you need in only a few clicks. It’s taken a long time to get the website to a much more user friendly position but it’s a step in the right direction.

New membership card finally turned up… only 2 months after the old one expired. There was no delay in taking my direct debit payment of course!

Thinking of getting the Theatrecard Classic ATG membership to give me a better chance of decent seats for Sunset Boulevard when it goes on sale. As someone who only tends to go to ATG venues in the West End rather than regionally, would you guys say it’s worth it? Thanks in advance!

I have it and think it's worth it. You can get through quicker on the phone and the advance booking is always handy.

Thank you. Membership purchased, so I’m ready for my presale for Sunset now… wish they’d hurry up and confirm when it’s going on sale!

I’ve started to have issues with the website using safari on my iPad. Anyone else? It’s been fine using chrome on it, but a little bit of a nuisance. I still don’t get their marketing either.

Have you tried ringing them about the marketing? I found out recently they effectively operate on a selective regional basis for marketing, so will target you with theatres near to your postcode or with theatres in regions that you have opted in to. The problem is when you show an interest in another show that might be in an ATG theatre and sign up for notifications, it then resets your preferences to that theatre/location. If you call them and tell them the areas you'd like to cover (e.g. All UK, London, South East, Midlands etc) they will update your master record which will then trigger the targetted marketing.

Had my new Theatrecard in the post today. It’s got the Liverpool Empire logo on it the back, where I think it used to have a magnetic stripe. Looks a bit daft, especially as one of the selling points is that it can be used in all their venues.

This prompted me to look at the reverse of mine, but it has no logo and re venue, says only "Richmond Theatre". In fact Wimbledon and Woking are probably as near, but I've found audiences at Wimbledon can be dominated by large groups of well-refreshed women and though at Woking they've generally been more civilised, that has happened occasionally, Woking is well outside Travelcard zone 6 so it's harder to combine a trip there with something else the same day. Richmond is closer to central London, has more on offer locally, too (another theatre & 2 cinemas very nearby) and audiences tend to be better-behaved there.

Having had issues receiving emails previously which were sorted, did any ATG theatre card holders get an email about An Officer and a Gentleman being on sale?

Is ATG cutting back on its various cashback offers?
All my 5% ones on various Amex cards expired this week. They've always been renewed in the past, but nothing yet.
I'm seeing just 3% on TopCashBack (and using that sometimes forces a booking fee that is supposed to be waived for ATG members) and only 2% on my Virgin Mastercard.
Any decent ATG cashback deals out there still?

I'm an ATG card skeptic but finally gave in today and purchased one. It's actually paid off with the savings in 1 booking so probably should have done this sooner!
I've been looking at tickets for something on tour next week. When I am logged in with my ATG card I get a very good price come up as "Staff Offer". Am I OK booking this if I am seeing it when logged in as a card holder? Or is that a bit cheeky / might be denied for some reason at the theatre... I'm also seeing a "ATG Cardholder" and "Fathers Day Offer" price when logged in, but those two are higher.

If it were me, I'd take the view that if they're making me this offer AFTER I'm signed in, and unless there are t&c's that make it clear I am ineligible, I'd buy it. In any case, I've never known a theatre do any checks on entry other than that you hold a ticket for the show.

Theatrecard now appears to have become ATG+
Seems that most of the offers associated with it are the exact same as the ATG Theatrecard, however they do now mention "our best price guarantee on regional touring week long shows (we match or beat other alternative public facing ATG offers)"
All the prices seem to have increased by £15, with the Direct Debit without Ticket Protection increasing from £35 to £50 and the DD with Ticket Protection going from £59 to £75.
From how i've understood the wording ,it appears current Theatrecard holders will be able to renew at the old Theatrecard prices for the next 12 months according to this FAQ answer. But may need confirmation of that

Thanks for confirming what I thought, namely that the free "upgrade" is a non-upgrade, and merely a rebranding and sharp price hike.
How the hell did the person in ATG responsible for this expect it to play out with members? You get told you're upgraded, then waste 10 minutes of your life establishing that you haven't been
This is how-to-alienate-customers 101.

I’ve had one for a good few years now. It’s only just gone out last month, but I probably won’t renew it. I don’t think I book that much with ATG anymore to make it worth it. I can usually get a better deal from my Blue Light card for their regional venues, and unless it’s a ‘hot’ ticket then there’s usually some kind of rush option in London.

I don’t book as many shows with ATG anymore so I definitely won’t be renewing. The price hike is ridiculous

Looks like it’s all going tits up according to the ATG+ Facebook group. People not seeing discounts, booking fees added to price etc. Usual shambles.

My new TheatreCard arrived two days ago (payment was taken mid July) ... surely they knew this was coming. How unhelpful!
I won't be renewing again at that price, the discounts have been getting progressively worse for years.
