That video is really cute. I have never said "aw" so many times out loud.

I saw this tonight. I really enjoyed it. So much energy. Will definitely try and see it again.
Anyone know how it works with The Railway Children. We asked one of the staff and what she said wasn't very clear. How often do they have to take the In The Heights set down? Or does it slide off somewhere?

Shame there was no Best Actor Oliver nod for Sam Mackay, thought he deserved to be there.

We asked one of the staff and what she said wasn't very clear. How often do they have to take the In The Heights set down? Or does it slide off somewhere? The In the Heights set can stay put from Sunday eve to Tuesday eve. On Wednesday they have to get the Railway Children set back in and Thursday to Sunday they have a Railway Children matinee and In the Heights evening performance. That's the regular schedule. Railway Children is doing extra performances around Easter so that will mean even more set changes. When In the Heights first started at the theatre there used to be delays to the start time regularly on days with a Railway Children matinee because it took them longer than expected to change the set. They redecorate the foyer for In the Heights too. It's not a huge set but the backstage crew sure does a great job switching between shows that quickly. :-)

Wow. So they actually dismantle it and remantle ( ;-) ) it when they do different shows?! They must be really slick!

She said she was hoping to be back soon but that was more than a month ago. I have no idea how long a broken nose needs to heal enough for her to be able to perform.

Well she was at the recent Aladdin showcase/launch and performed. It hardly seems worth her going back now.

I was at the show when it happened. She accidentally got hit in the face by one of the dancers during Blackout (act one finale). She carried on until the interval, Jocasta Almgill took over as Vanessa for act two.

Oh dear. I was worried it might've been something like that. I bet they felt awful. Good for her carrying on.

Just listened to 'Enough' on the soundtrack. Very underwhelmed after Josie Benson's performance on Monday. The recording lacks so much oomph in comparison.

Went to this again last night, first time seeing any understudies (Michael Cortez on for Sam McKay and I think Jocasta on for Jade Ewen) and impressed by both. It's just really nice to have this wonderful, uplifting show in London for a good chunk of time. Audience were really enjoying it and there were only a few empty seats. Lots of whooping at the balcony scene at the top of act 2 which I haven't experienced before- must be the Friday night crowd!

I saw the show on Friday, having listened to a coupe of songs and watched a few videos from the show. I came with a group of friends I had encouraged to see the show based on what I know of it and some of the amazing reviews on here. I have to admit to feeling hugely underwhelmed by the interval and incredibly disappointed. Michael was on for Usnavi, Philippa for Daniella, Jocasta for Vanessa and Spin for the Piragua Guy. I was sat on the back row a little out to the side on Platform two and really felt like this was the sort of show I wanted to be seated much closer for.
Whilst the energy the cast were putting into the show was up there with the best of the West End, the performances just weren't reaching the back of (what is essentially) a small venue. The sounds was unbalanced and the choreography, whilst great in many ways, but as with many promenade performances felt somewhat contained and constrained. Jocasta was stunning vocally with a sincere performance to match. Philippa sounded fine, I felt she needed to crank it up a little. Michael was, well, just a bit dull. I love the song 'Breathe' but Lily sounded like she was struggling through much of the material that called for her to sing in a softer tone without belt. I guess, as this song comes so close to the start of the show, this set up a felling of slight disappointment.
It wasn't really until Josie's Enough' at the start of act two that I began to care about any of the characters and by the end of the show I was standing along with an ovation by many in the audience.
I felt as though the stage felt a little empty during some of the scenes involving the whole company and wondered if there would normally be more people on stage had there not been so many covers?
Overall I enjoyed it and think I'll give it another try later in the run when Sam is back.

Philippa's really the main Daniela as whatsername is on maternity leave. I think they just announce her as an understudy because they haven't reprinted the programmes, but on the website she's listed as Daniela.
Are they looking for new actors as Jade will be leaving soon surely, even though she's been indisposed recently?!

Just heard that Jade is not coming back. Don't know if Jocasta is being promoted or if they are getting someone new for the role though.

She only has two months left until Aladdin begins previews so no doubt she will want a short break before going into the hardcore rehearsals and tech etc...

Well, she hasn't officially left the cast. She was supposed to stay until mid April and has been off injured since mid January.

She won't. At least that's what I was told today. Maybe they haven't announced it yet because they are still negotiating with whoever is taking over full time.

They are getting a new Vanessa. I don't know who but she starts rehearsals soon. Also some of the cast are leaving in April (Antoine who plays Graffiti Pete for example).
And the show is performing at the Oliviers. :-)

Don't know I'm afraid but if I had to guess I would say 10th April as that was the date Jade was set to leave. No guarantee though!

Just saw this tonight and really enjoyed the show. I normally wouldn't post, but I was there tonight after winning the tickets through this site. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who was involved in the contest. Thank you for a wonderful night at the theatre
