I am not normally a negative person but this really said nothing to me and, as an adaptation of the novel (or film?) was pretty feeble.
A lot of prancing about in tights and leotards which is fine in ballet, and could well be fine in another play but here, in this supremely violent story, is of dubious relevance. Fans of male beefcake may enjoy it but as a theatrical production... nothing to recommend.

Needless to say I rather enjoyed it. It was very much like a ballet. Just with a bit more violence and sex than you normally get at The Nutcracker.
Oh and Jonno Davies is a hunkalicious hunk of hunkness. Never has a vest and a pair of braces looked so good.

I loved it. I have a few films I know that are plays or musicals (or maybe one day adapted) that I want to see on stage. This was the third I've seen. I was a little unsure of it being an all male production after while I got used to the guys playing women albeit it a touch camp. The dance works very well in this production it blends from the start using dance for violence then later dance/movement is apart of the dream parts.
Jonno Davies was fantastic as Alex. The cast were all great I esp liked Sebastian Charles as well. Clockwork Orange is one of those book/film/play that you either love it or you dont. Its always difficult to become aware you feel sorry for Alex later on after all the brain washing. It's one of those things tugs on my ethical & moral compass. Jonno def did that. He was terrifying at the start and psychoic then later on you just want to go up and hug him esp when he goes back home to find his parents have aquired a lodger (Sebastian Charles) who is equally psychoic.
This is a physical production its nots going to appeal to everyone. For me I loved it.
I waited after the show to see if I could meet the cast. I managed to catch Jonno & Sebastian. They were lovely.

Is there male nudity? I'm asking for a friend. Alas no. There is a bit of nipple work and some pants action from the swoonsome Jonno and a bit of hands down the pants going on but no nudity. |

Cheers It says they do if it's sold out but online... if you're going to the matinee its the show thats least sold. Not sure about discounts. Don't miss it though it's brill. Been 4 times and have the last 2 shows to go to. |
